Comments about Permatex Ultra Disc Brake Caliper Lube (8 oz):
This container includes an applicator brush built into the lid. I use this on every brake job to insure calipers function smoothly and the brake pads are able to glide in and out evenly. I've noticed my brake pads always wear evenly and equally, front to back and side to side, with no grinding or squeaking.
Clean all the brake parts & pieces, pins, boots, etc, then use this during reassembly anywhere that the parts are sliding, gliding or rubbing to make sure nothing binds up or sticks, and to prevent parts rusting in place (like guide pins/bolts). It frustrates me when someone volunteers to replace a friend's front brake pads, then the friend comes to me 2 months later because brakes are pulling to one side or squeaking and I find out Mr volunteer didn't use brake cleaner, or brake lube, or stop-squeak - just took the old pads out and put the new ones in. So use this stuff and do the job right the first time.
Also, this container holds the equivalent of about 50 of the little packets that are sold at the counter. Doing the math shows a 90% savings.

Comments about Permatex Ultra Disc Brake Caliper Lube (8 oz):
Use this product on all of my brake jobs. It's part of doing the job correctly. Calipers need to be properly lubricated to insure trouble free and quiet performance.
Remember though a little goes a long way so don't overdo it.
Lastly, don't forget the importance of cleaning everything before reassembly. Brake dust is corrosive and causes binding. Liberal use of brake cleaner will insure years of trouble free service.
I like to work the calipers in and out before final assembly to insure that everything is working as designed.
One time, I discovered that one caliper was sticking. Had I not, I would have had to replace the rotors and pads within a few thousand miles as it was hanging up very badly.

This stuff is great and an absolute must to ensure your caliper pins and pads do not freeze up on you. Don't bother getting small packets. This jar will last a long time and comes with applicator. I have used this on other stuff around the garage besides brakes.
