There is nothing special about this product. Like another reviewer mentioned, there is no guarantee this product will fix your squeaks or guarantee good operation. The appearance of the product is not reassuring. It is more of a translucent blue gel, not a thick grease. Do not be surprised if it starts to dry tacky and pasty within a few weeks. I have used an entire tube on one brake caliper position within two months because the gel gets easily contaminated and drys out even after replacing all rubber caliper hardware. I am currently looking for an alternative (maybe CRC products) but it is possible that I may need a new caliper. This product does not deserve one star because it is in a reclosable tube and it probably works okay as a standard brake grease. DO NOT expect it to fix any hardware problems or squeaks because it is not a miracle product. IMO they missed a critical additive in order to make it more environmentally friendly, so this grease will not hold under high temps or maybe it degrades quickly under high contact pressures.

Comments about Permatex Ultra Disc Brake Caliper Lube (.5 oz):

I have always trusted Permatex products and haven't had a problem with them until now. This is supposed to be brake parts grease but be warned that it can not come in contact with rubber components. This means the rubber boots around the caliper pistons, boots around the guide pins, and and rubber sleeves on guide pins. Think about that, all those rubber parts can't come in contact with this product. I didn't know this and it caused the rubber sleeves on my guide pins to swell within a week, freezing up my calipers. Don't make the mistake I did and just get Silaramic.

Comments about Permatex Ultra Disc Brake Caliper Lube (.5 oz):

I had a dragging brake pad on my Kia Spectra 5 that caused uneven wear on one pair of pads. I replaced the pads once without any lube on the tracks, and (surprise, surprise), the pad wore out again.

This time, I lubed up the tracks and the pads seem to be able to move as they wear without excessive dragging. That was only a few weeks ago, so I can't say for sure that the drag-induced wear has been eliminated, but it's cheap enough that it's easily worth spreading a bit on the guides when you swap out your pads.

Replaced Rear Caliper/Pad/Rotors, used this for the slide pins. I figured I'd re-lube the front caliper pins as well. 8 months later, we experience braking power issues, and I verified the front pins were all seized! After an hour of getting the pins out, the lube had turned into sticky gum. (I did clean the pins and bore before using).
