Comments about Performance Tools Pistol-Grip Grease Gun:

I have never used a grease gun before. I picked it up to grease the driveshafts on my newly acquired 4runner. The instructions were spot-on. It was a little hard to get the plunger into the grease tube, but I finally got it after a couple minutes. When you hold this product, you feel like you bought a quality item. It was easy to use and I had to problems with it.

Great price that allows you to lube it yourself. Be sure not the tighten the nozzle on too tight, it will keep the fitting from fitting firmly inside nozzle tip.

Comments about Performance Tools Pistol-Grip Grease Gun:

I purchased this grease gun to lube the front end of my 2001 Blazer. Those who own Blazers know that the grease fittings on this truck are a pain in the neck to reach, and many professional shops don't go through the trouble of hitting all of the fittings. The result is this model is prone to having problems with the steering parts on the car. Once I realized that the shops weren't hitting all the fittings, I decided to to them myself, and this gun is perfect for that. The included flexible hose is a necessity for me, and was happy to see it was included with the product. Just be sure to tighten all of the fittings on the gun snugly so the grease doesn't weep through under pressure.

Comments about Performance Tools Pistol-Grip Grease Gun:

I purchased a new John Deere D130 lawn tractor a few months ago. When it comes to maintenance, you need a grease gun to grease certain points of the equipmnent. This Performance Tools grease gun does the job fabulously. There were some spots that are hard to get to, so the hose comes in handy. The 3000 PSI pressure really pushes the grease into the areas needed. Make sure that you get a 14 oz grease cartridge, because it it the only one that will fit. The gun is easy to set up and use. It is great quality. If you need help setting this gun up, Performance Tools has a video on YouTube. This gun will last year after year.

Comments about Performance Tools Pistol-Grip Grease Gun:

Replaced older, heavier gun with this more compact one. Very handy to use for lube, and ball joints, esp. if you have a confined space to work in.

This is the first grease gun I bought. For the price it is very well made. Good bit of assembly required but should last a very long time. Would buy another for a spare. Make sure to get all the parts tight. I still have grease coming out of the threads. Nozzle fits tight and have not had any grease spills from here.

Overall this product works well for the at home mechanic. I use it to grease wheel bearings in my trailer and to grease the steering head bearing on my Harley Street glide. No cons I can think of at this time regarding the product. Product seems very durable and should last many years.

                            A:

Rotate counter clockwise, unscrew head cap from gun barrel. Due to lack of lubrication on the rubber plunger, new grease guns may be difficult to load with grease cartridges the first time. Apply a liberal coating of grease to plunger when using gun for the first time. This grease gun requires a 14 oz grease cartridge. Draw the handle back fully so that the plunger rod catches and locks into place. After removing the plastic cap from the 14 oz grease cartridge, apply a small amount of grease to the inside edge of the cartridge. This will make insertion of the plunger easier. Push grease cartridge into the gun barrel completely, until metal edge tightly seals top of the grease gun barrel. Detach flip-top seal from cartridge. Screw on head cap approximately two turns, being sure not to tighten. Release plunger rod from its locked position and push in. Push on plunger rod handle to force plunger into cartridge. At the same time, pump the lever or handle to release trapped air. When grease comes through vents and the head of the gun, fully the head cap to the barrel. As soon as the gun in pumping grease, carefully depress the lock release and push the plunger rod the rest of the way into the gun.
