Will this product work in a Mostly Stock 2003 Chevy Duramax? I am wanting to complete a full flush and change a sticking thermostat. Also, when adding water, should I go the extra mile and use Distilled Water and add some Water Wetter?
Asked on 7/19/2016 by Christopher from United States

            • CUSTOMER CARE

              A:

I'm glad to assist, Christopher! For 2003 Chevrolet Duramax, I'd recommend the use of the Peak Long Life Antifreeze/Coolant - Part No. PRA0B3. The vehicle is originally equipped with an extended life product and it is recommended to replace it with one of the extended life products. When mixing your own antifreeze distilled water is recommended. In a properly functioning cooling system, there is no need for an additive.

              A:

I'm glad to assist you, Gramsbaby! Concentrate antifreeze will freeze around 10 ºF. For adequate freeze protection, Fleet Charge SCA Precharged Concentrate
Antifreeze/Coolant should be diluted with water.

            • CUSTOMER CARE

              A:

I'm glad to assist you, Red! Depending on the model year of the vehicle, the coolant in the engine could either be a fully formulated SCA precharged type antifreeze, or a heavy duty extended life antifreeze. Supplemental Coolant Additives (SCA) are vital for the health and longevity of any diesel engine. If the vehicle is equipped with the fully formulated SCA precharged antifreeze, Peak Fleet Charge Antifreeze can be used as a top off or flush and fill replacement. If the vehicle is equipped with the heavy duty extended life antifreeze, Peak Final Charge Antifreeze can be used as a top off or flush and fill replacement. Peak final charge antifreeze is not available online. I recommend checking with your local store for availability.
