This jumpstarter saved me multiple times...

My alternator is going or already is bad and my battery is not getting enough amps to effectively keep a solid charge. I just bought a new Interstate battery and have had it load tested without issue.

Although this unit is relatively low in amps, it has always worked for me (2005 Ford Five Hundred), even when my battery is dead.

It sure beats jumper cables and I was able to not only jump my car, but also another recently while at a gas station...neither of our cars would start after filling up with gas.

I don't leave home with out it. Thanks Advanced Auto

I did charge this unit for 12 hours for a full charge and it did not have enough power to turn over the motor of a Nissan Maxima more than 2 or 3 times. The temperature was around 30F. This charger might work for a small motor such as a motorcycle, but I cannot see this working for a car

Comments about Peak 600 Amp Jumpstarter:

Jump-started my 2002 Acura without a problem. Worked great right out of the box. I like the sturdy, compact rubber construction. Unit was already 99% charged when I bought it. Very easy for anyone to use. A good piece of gear to keep in the trunk. Great price, great value!

I charged this unit once. It lost the charge rapidly. I tried to charge it again. The charger was defective putting out only 2 volts. I bought a new charger. The unit would not charge to full capicity. I lost the receipt. I could not return this product so it was tossed in the trash.

I've tried to jump start 5 different cars with this and not a single one would crank over. This unit is just not powerful enough. It would start my ATV, though. It may work on a 4 cylinder car. I tried 6 and 8 cylinder vehicles. I am very, very disappointed. I've had it about 1 year. Its no more than a really heavy cell phone charger.

I bought this jump starter as I wanted one for my son's car. When I opened the package I could not believe how poorly this thing is made. It feels cheap so I doubt it works very well. After researching the product on the internet, it's going back. Too many bad reviews.

I was under the assumption that the name "Peak" meant quality. The first pack that I purchased would not charge at all. I followed all the instructions in the manual. I contacted customer service and I was advised to return it to the store it was purchased from. I Returned it for a different one. This one charged OK but quickly lost its charge immediately after disconnecting the cord. Within 4 hours it was totally discharged. I attempted to charge it again, same results. Returned it for a refund.

I bought this to carry in my "part time use car" in case battery is low. It was confirmed to be OK to start small block (305 cu in) Chevy; but after charging 24 hours; I tried to jump start the car that was sitting in the garage for about 2 weeks; and it did not crank more than a couple of times. This CAN NOT DO what it says it does. It failed to do what it was bought for. Glad this happened in my garage and not out on the road. The only trickle drain on battery is from the on board computer (low 8-12 ma range). I ended up jumping off another car battery and it started right up...

ALL TESTS WERE INTENTIONAL (my alternator wasn't charging battery well): The first time I used this it didn't work. I charged it for just 2 hours and it worked three consecutive times in freezing temperatures before needing a recharge (almost a 4th time but it was 31F out). It's best to recharge after every use (time permitting). ***It is perfect for the casual user or even for fleet service***.

I saw a similar question previously but this is about the "FL" indicator. New product, I am doing the initial charge and the indicator flashes "FL" but I am following instructions to charge it anyway. However, it has been plugged in for an hour already and still just flashes "FL". Will that status change during the charging (to show % eventually)? In case the charge is Full, I tested it; I unplugged it, turned the knob to "on" and no green light for "Jump Start Power" and no LED indicator at all.

I purchased a Peak 600 Amp Jump-starter several months ago. The AC charger and DC charging cable got mixed in with several (....many) other chargers when I moved. Now I'm not sure which one goes to what. Can someone tell me the model # of the AC charger so I can sort out which one it is?
                              Thanks,
                              JC
