This jumpstarter saved me multiple times...

My alternator is going or already is bad and my battery is not getting enough amps to effectively keep a solid charge. I just bought a new Interstate battery and have had it load tested without issue.

Although this unit is relatively low in amps, it has always worked for me (2005 Ford Five Hundred), even when my battery is dead.

It sure beats jumper cables and I was able to not only jump my car, but also another recently while at a gas station...neither of our cars would start after filling up with gas.

I don't leave home with out it. Thanks Advanced Auto

I did charge this unit for 12 hours for a full charge and it did not have enough power to turn over the motor of a Nissan Maxima more than 2 or 3 times. The temperature was around 30F. This charger might work for a small motor such as a motorcycle, but I cannot see this working for a car

I bought this jump starter as I wanted one for my son's car. When I opened the package I could not believe how poorly this thing is made. It feels cheap so I doubt it works very well. After researching the product on the internet, it's going back. Too many bad reviews.

Comments about Peak 600 Amp Jumpstarter:

I was under the assumption that the name "Peak" meant quality. The first pack that I purchased would not charge at all. I followed all the instructions in the manual. I contacted customer service and I was advised to return it to the store it was purchased from. I Returned it for a different one. This one charged OK but quickly lost its charge immediately after disconnecting the cord. Within 4 hours it was totally discharged. I attempted to charge it again, same results. Returned it for a refund.

Comments about Peak 600 Amp Jumpstarter:

I bought this to carry in my "part time use car" in case battery is low. It was confirmed to be OK to start small block (305 cu in) Chevy; but after charging 24 hours; I tried to jump start the car that was sitting in the garage for about 2 weeks; and it did not crank more than a couple of times. This CAN NOT DO what it says it does. It failed to do what it was bought for. Glad this happened in my garage and not out on the road. The only trickle drain on battery is from the on board computer (low 8-12 ma range). I ended up jumping off another car battery and it started right up...

ALL TESTS WERE INTENTIONAL (my alternator wasn't charging battery well): The first time I used this it didn't work. I charged it for just 2 hours and it worked three consecutive times in freezing temperatures before needing a recharge (almost a 4th time but it was 31F out). It's best to recharge after every use (time permitting). ***It is perfect for the casual user or even for fleet service***.

Everyone should have one of these for emergencies.
I have been stranded several times in my life with a dead battery and it ain't fun. No one seems
to have jumper cables. And don't rely on those
road side assistance plans as it will take forever
for them to get there and jump you off. Get one of these and don't leave home without it. P.S. I also use mine to charge my cell phone and laptop as it has the cigarette lighter type plug and it and it works fine. Seems to charge quicker than plugging it into the wall. Great gadget!

I purchased this to use as a portable power source. The instructions said to charge for 24 hours before use, which I did. The unit was sitting on a table for about two hours when the low power alarm started beeping. With absolutely no load, its dropped it's entire charge. They recommended recharging every month. Hah!!
I should have read the other reviews before purchasing but at least Advance Auto didn't give me a problem with the refund.

I just purchased a 600 Peak Amp Jumpstarter.I was told that after purchasing to take it home and charge initially for up to 24 hrs.

After I got home, I plugged in to charge and its got an FL% light flashing after 5 mins of charging. Does this mean my Jumpstarter is fully charged? Also do I leave it still charging as directions stated? Or stop charging, because FL% = fully charged? Please let me know.I don't want to keep charging this battery if its full. But I'm trying to follow instructions of letting it charge for 24 hours? Can you please help? Thank you

Hi Adrienne! I would still recommend charging it for 24 hours, even if it shows full right away. It is good for conditioning the battery. The adapter that is built in will not allow it to overcharge.

Hi, glad to assist you! Please check theses instructions for charging 600 amp Jump-Starter battery - All rechargeable batteries gradually discharge when left idle, and you need to recharge them periodically to maintain maximum battery capacity. The AC charger plug within the Jump-Starter is designed to charge using a 110/120-volt outlet. Fully charge unit to the recommended maximum and initial charge time of 24 hours. Thereafter, an AC typical charge time is 8 to 12 hours. Recharge the unit fully after each use. This will prolong the life of the battery because frequent discharges between recharges will reduce battery life. Make sure all functions of the Jump-Starter are turned of during recharging. Notice: Due to inherent self-discharge, lead-acid batteries should be charged at least every 4 months, especially in a warm environment. Leaving a battery in a discharged state, or if not recharged every 4 months, may result in permanent battery damage and poor jump-starting performance. Do not attempt to recharge the Jump-Starter battery if it is frozen. Gradually warm the frozen battery to 0°C (32°F) before recharging. Do not operate DC appliances with the Jump-Starter while the unit is being recharged with the AC charger. The AC charger may be permanently damaged if 12-volt DC appliances are operated while the AC charger is connected. 110/120-Volt AC Charging. Do not exceed maximum recommended ac charge of 24 hours. Disconnect any DC appliance from the 12-volt DC power socket. Turn all ON/OFF switches to the OFF position. Only charge the Jump-Starter using an approved external AC power cord. Flip out the AC charging plug from the back of the Jump-Starter. Connect the extension plug to the AC charging plug. Plug the extension cord into a 110/120-volt AC outlet. The battery indicator display will gradually increase as the Jump-Starter is charging. When the Jump-Starter is fully charged, the display will read FL. Disconnect the AC extension cord from the 110/120-volt AC outlet, and then disconnect it from the Jump-Starter AC charging plug.
