Online discount, mail in rebate, in store pickup, Jerry was really helpful. The battery was 4 months old and dirty. It cleaned up fine, fit perfectly, and started my car.

Comments about OPTIMA Batteries YellowTop Dual-Purpose Battery, Group 51, 450 CCA:

This is the second Optima Yellow Top battery I have purchased for my wife's 2005 Toyota Prius. The first lasted seven years and had plenty of power for starting as well as running any accessories. I purchased a separate adapter kit online to allow me to install the D51 Optima Yellow Top Battery in her Prius. The removal / replacement was pretty straight forward and took about an hour because the Prius Battery is located in the back underneath the storage compartment, I was able to purchase the battery online and pick it up at the store. While the nearest Advance Auto Parts did not have the battery in stock, another store within five miles did have it in stock. I was happy that the store actually DID have it in stock as I have often purchased parts online only to find out that the store either didn't really have the part or couldn't find the part. Overall nothing but positive things to say about the entire experience.

Replaced the standard Honda battery in my 05 Civic for the new Optima one. I liked the Optima as a replacement because of their reliability and the deep cycling it has. I have an after market stereo system in my vehicle that can pull a lot of power at times and the Optima is a nice upgrade for the standard Honda battery.

It was too easy to order on line. However it was not in stock at the store I ordered it from. I was in a time crunch and the whole matter became an ordeal, because I was just picking up the battery and was going to put it in my vehicle and be on my way to my next appointment. Since the battery was so far away, I had to cancel my appointment which in turn had some nasty side effects. I had left my tablet in a shopping cart i used to carry the battery to my other vehicle. Fortunately, the grocery store informed me that a batboy had turned it in. I rewarded him and finally was able to make it home in time to replace the battery.

Bought for a S2000. We'll see how long it lasts because I've heard they don't like losing a charge and then be recharged.

Comments about OPTIMA Batteries YellowTop Dual-Purpose Battery, Group 51, 450 CCA:

At 85,000 miles the Duralast Gold in my 2006 S2000 died a sudden death. My car is pretty hard on batteries because it has an alarm, an upgraded audio system with component fronts, coaxial rears and a 12" subwoofer. Additionally, I'm sure the electric motors for the convertible top, which I'm constantly using, are a strain on the smallish size 51 battery required in this car. So, my supposition is that a deep-cycle battery like Optima's Yellow-Top is ideal for my purposes. I've only had it a few weeks, but I'm please so far. The reduction to 4 stars is only because I think Optimas are still a bit overpriced. Forntunately, a 15% discount coupon from this website was available at the time of this purchase.

Comments about OPTIMA Batteries YellowTop Dual-Purpose Battery, Group 51, 450 CCA:

Needed a AGM battery with external vent holes I could use in my 2004 Prius at a reasonable price. The Optima Yellow Top fits with some adaptation by replacing the OEM terminal lugs with standard ones. The price was lower than the OEM from a dealer even with the extra parts to adapt to it.

When I picked it up from the store the battery looked like it had been in the store for a year and the terminals looked like they had been roughed up with a file. Pointed that out and was told they don't sell a lot of them so they don't move very fast and that they had tested, charged it up and cleaned the terminals with a wire brush, which is why they were roughed up. With the apparent time that on the shelf, I was worried about how it would hold up, but with a 3 year replacement warranty, I figure I can take it in for replacement before that. It checked out on my charger and seems to be working fine, so I guess I'll see if I made the right decision in accepting it.

The picture shown on the product page for the Optima Yellowtop 51 shows that the positive terminal is on front right. This appears to be in error. The 51R should be on front right and the 51 should have positive terminal on front left. Which is correct the picture on product page or the group size (51)? note: front is defined here as engine side.

Yes Mitch, you are correct. The Group 51R should have the positive terminal on front right and the Group 51 should have the positive terminal on front left. I will forward this issue to the appropriate department for a necessary review to avoid such happenings in the future and to enhance your future shopping experience.
