  • Q:

How does the longevity of flex pipe compare to that of OEM steel?

      A:

I'm happy to help, BoJankeTy! Steel exhaust pipe will certainly last longer than Flex-O-Pipe. However this can be a great temporary fix until you are able to properly repair the exhaust. The longevity of this will vary depending upon the use and placement in your exhaust system. Closer to the end of the exhaust and the life will probably be longer than if it were used further up where there is more heat.

I personally used this on one of my vehicles and it held up for about 2 years and was still viable when I removed it. I also cut it shorter and split it in a couple of spots. My installation was just after the catalytic converter. Your mileage may vary.

Magnaflow makes mandrel bent tubing that can be used to complete your project, or you can purchase bulk tubing and have a local exhaust shop press bend it as well for a small fee.
