Installed in a 2001 Nissan Pathfinder that was at 110,000 miles on the original platinum plugs (yeah, I know, missed the suggested time to replace). I like that they are pre-gapped and looked awesome compared to the very worn/aged plugs that came out.

Product fit well (no threading issues) and the rig started up and ran like a champ. It definitely has better "get-up" and I'm averaging an extra 1.5 miles per gallon (which I calculate upon every fill-up and have been for the last 3 years).

Because the throttle body had to be removed to access certain plugs, it was cleaned thoroughly during this install. Not sure if this is why I'm getting better throttle response (probably), but I do believe the plugs have slightly increase my overall power and slightly increased my gas mileage.

Hey, I'll take it. I've only had these in for a couple weeks now, but I'm a believer. Good product.

The box was crushed for two of the three plugs. Furthermore, the protective cardboard cylinder was missing from one plug.

Great spark plug. Always check your automobile's manual for the right spark plug. Going cheap is not always the best choice, sure this spark plug is expensive but it will make your car run at its best. I use it on my 01 Nissan Pathfinder, and its good for 90-105k miles. Wife's Honda Pilot also uses the NGK laser iridium, you can't go wrong.

I bought my 2001 Nissan Sentra GXE back in 2004 with 20,000+ miles on them. I just changed the plugs today with 100,793 miles. 10 years and 80,000 miles later, the OEM plugs I pulled out were the same as these NGK's. These plugs can go atleast 150,000 miles on them. Excellent and cheap when you use your e-mail discounts. NGK's are best used on import vehicles. I am not sure about domestic and european vehicles. Do not need to gap. Just pull it out from the box, and install. BUT, don't forget the Dielectric grease and Anti-Seize grease. You get your money's worth!

NGK is the original equipment spark plug for all Nissan vehicles and most Asian makes. NGK is the largest spark plug manufacturer in the world and their quality is second to none, in my opinion. I use them in every gas engine I own, from leaf blowers to lawn mowers, from Chevys to Nissans.

                              A:

The spark plug heat range has no relationship to the electrical energy transferred through the spark plug. The heat range of a spark plug is the range in which the plug works well thermally. The heat range must be carefully selected for proper spark plug thermal performance. If the heat range is not optimal, then serious trouble can be the result. The factory specified heat range for your 2005 Nissan Xterra is 5 and hence I would recommend the NGK Laser Platinum Spark Plug (PLFR5A-11) - Part No. 6240. The bigger the spark plug gap, the more air/fuel mixture will come into contact with the spark and the easier it will be to ignite the air/fuel mixture. The proper gap for your vehicle would be 0.040 to 0.043.
