Worth the extra couple of dollars.

Comments about NGK Iridium Ix Spark Plug (LFR5AIX-11):

Spent the extra couple of dollars to get these, well worth it. Typically I would buy the mid priced ones but with the constant strain on driving so much, traffic and hauling on a regular basis I opted to buy these. Didn't want to take any chances in case I take a road trip. My truck is running great. Great contact and purring like a kitten. Also purchased compete set of brakes an rotors to round out needed maintenance and got a great deal coupled with the limited lifetime warranty, doesn't get any better.

Comments about NGK Iridium Ix Spark Plug (LFR5AIX-11):

2003 Nissan Altima 2.5L 177K miles on it - Engine would sometimes shudder and hesitate at cruising speed under slight acceleration but no codes on the ECM. I had NGK plugs in it, around 80K miles on them. I installed new NGK plugs and thoroughly cleaned the coils/wiring/coil-on-boot tubes. The engine now runs smoother, increased power, and the shudder/hesitation is gone. NGK plugs are high quality plus they have superior plating on the threads, are less likely to seize in aluminum cylinder heads (ALWAYS use anti-seize on the threads when installing new plugs!). Exactly what was needed to restore my engine performance.

Comments about NGK Iridium Ix Spark Plug (LFR5AIX-11):

I love these spark plugs! I've used them as a replacement in all my cars! They come pre-gapped and have the best overal balance of durability, performance, and price. I had no issues with my installs and I have put them in several Hondas, an infiniti and a ford. I use to use the platinum 4 prong for a while and while I was pleased in the beginning I was not happy in the long run. I've noticed that the iridium shave the best capability for full combust the fuel needed and for that reason I have seen a big increase in miles to the gallon as well.

                    A:

Hi Omar, I'm glad to answer you! The part number you listed is the Iridium IX line (40k - 50k miles). This is not a long life OEM type plug, rather the NGK's Laser Iridium and Laser Platinum plugs (80k - 100k) are the long life plugs and are OEM in many applications. Please provide us with the details of your application (including the year, make and model) and I will be happy to provide you with the correct product that can be used if available.

Does this plug work for a 2008 Altima 2.5 S ? Just went to get a tune-up and the mechanic ordered plugs for my car but said they were the wrong size and now they say noone in the area has them. I looked under the make/model etc. and it shows these are in stock but if the thread area is too large like the ones they ordered it's a bit crazy that they aren't right.
