Comments about NGK G Power Spark Plug:

My 2004 Subaru Outback Wagon was running rough and showing a p0304 code (cylinder 4 mis-firing). I replaced all four spark plugs with these NGK G-Power plugs using several excellent youtube How-to videos for the Subaru Boxer 4-cylinder engine as a guide. The engine is now running fine, and the p0304 code disappeared immediately, and has not recurred after multiple starts. These platinum NGK plugs are the manufacturer's recommended spark plug for use in the Subaru engines, and these have worked out perfectly in my vehicle.

Comments about NGK G Power Spark Plug:

Purchased for 2011 Subaru Impreza Outback Sport, 2.5L 4 cylinder with 160,000 miles.

NGK have been the plug Subaru has used practically forever. I remember dad changing them in the 1977 Subaru wagon we had back when I was a kid.

There will always be arguments over what plug is the best for what car/application. I will admit, I was torn between going with these or the Iridium tipped NGK's. I have always trusted NGK and have always used the platinum plugs, so I went with them in the end. They also cost half as much, so that was an incentive as well. Since both have a lifetime warranty (limited, of course!), it also gave me a little piece of mind.

The plugs are pre-gapped. No worries there. With the engine compartment being tight, getting the old ones out and these in were the fun part. Invest in a universal joint for your 3/8" ratchet and a short extension. You will need them!

The plugs work great, the engine runs smooth again, and you wouldn't know this car has 160K miles on it.

Comments about NGK G Power Spark Plug:

Have been using NGK in every import engine I've owned or worked on for over 40 years and never had an issue. Great and economical spark plugs. Unlike other major company's thru the years who have given up on quality for profit or have been bought out and ruined. Never had a NGK plug come apart like one other big name plug company. Cars would be towed in and center porcelain would be blown out and hanging on wire with metal still screwed in head. Wouldn't you know it was another set of a big named plug.

                          A:

Hi Jared, happy to help you! These G-Power Platinum spark plugs deliver the power and quality you expect from NGK. The fine pure platinum electrode tip remains virtually unchanged and reaches self-cleaning temperatures to deliver longer durability and optimum performance. Compared to conventional plugs, G-Power delivers better starts, superior acceleration and greater fuel economy. These NGK V-Power spark plugs offer economical performance for nearly any automotive application, and are the only plugs with NGK's V-Groove technology. They enhance ignitability, lower the voltage requirement of ignition systems, and have strong anti-fouling characteristics, while improving fuel mileage and acceleration performance. The V-Power plugs also are highly durable against electrical and chemical wear, making them a long-life replacement plug. Because of the V-Groove, the spark occurs at the edge of the center electrode. So heat is not absorbed by the electrode itself. This allows the flame kernel to expand quickly and efficiently for a complete burn and great performance.

                          A:

Hi Chip, good question! Yes, this NGK G Power Spark Plug - Part No. 7090 is pre-gapped at 0.040 inch (1.0 mm). All the spark plugs are pre-gapped from the factory, the fact remains that the gap must be adjusted for the vehicle that the spark plug is intended for. Those with modified engines must remember that a modified engine with higher compression or forced induction will typically require a smaller gap settings.
