Comments about Needa Parts Tailgate Cable - 17-1/4 Inch:

It takes quite a bit of modification to install this cable for a S10. The clip that attaches the cable to the tail gate is very flimsy and will not last.

Comments about Needa Parts Tailgate Cable - 17-1/4 Inch:

Cables are good quality, pins and clips could be better. A little work to install. Must either drill out or grind off old pins to remove old cable ends. I used a metal cutoff wheel to grind off heads of old pins. New pins seem kind of loose in existing holes and pins are holding but seem a little flimsy. So far so good, 1 year replacement so we'll see how long they last. They do tuck away nicely when tailgate is closed. I rated 3 stars. Slight difficulty installing. Not for the average guy. Should have some mechanical ability to install.

I understand that the attachment pin is destroyed when replacing the old cable. Does an attachment pin come with the cable--if not, what is a person suppose to do.
