  • Q:

    Good evening,

I wanted to know if both or either #800-051 & #800-059 fit my 2002 Ford Ranger w/ 2.3L engine. The 90degree elbows had clips that were brittle and broke as I replaced fuel pump. I noticed these line have different diameters and wanted to get right ones on 1st attempt and complete fuel pump install. Also, would it be more difficult just to replace elbows, I'd hate to cut and splice fuel line. Please give me your opinion and alternatives, if possible.

    Respectfully,
    Chiemeka Izundu

Hi ZombieAxe, I'm glad to assist you! This Needa Parts Fuel Line Repair Kit - Part No. 800-059 is universal and is not application specific. You would have to match one by size and quick connect style to what is on the vehicle that can be fabricated into its place. As long as you have a 3/8"-inch connection, this will work.

  • Q:

Is there a crimping tool you need to install this?

    • CUSTOMER CARE

      A:

Hello Lynn, that is an excellent question and I will be happy to help! The manufacturer suggests a crimping tool or pliers for the attachment clamp to the fuel line. If you need a crimping tool I would recommend (Part No. PIC0380T).

  • Q:

I have a 2005 mercury sable GS 3.0L OHV Flex and when replacing the fuel filter, the quick connectors broke on both ends. They were very cracked before touching so it was probably time to get them replaced anyway. But I am unsure how this actually install this. I assume this part in particular is the proper length for the line that goes from the filter to the fuel pump in the back. Is there another line that is specifically for the line that goes from the filter to the metal lines that lead to the engine? And what methods do you use to remove the old lines? Because they feel extremely tightly wrapped around the metal lines.

      A:

I'm happy to help, Eric! This Needa Parts Fuel Line Repair Kit - 3/8" Connector, 90 Degree Bend with 3/8"x6" Nylon Tubing and Union is not indicated as an exact fit for your 2005 Mercury Sable 3.0L V6 OHV Flex-Fuel. A little lubricant can help to release the rubber fuel hose from the metal line. There are no direct fit hoses for this application. I have located replacement clips. Dorman Part No. 800-023 will connect the fuel line to the filter and fuel line to the fuel pump. If you also need some fuel line connectors, Dorman Part No. 800-130 and 800-131 are the springlock connectors for the fuel system on the Sable. If you need any fuel hose, your local store can cut hose to any specified length.

  • Q:

OK its replaces the old one, so does it get melted together or do i have to put hose clamps on?

    • CUSTOMER CARE

      A:

This line is a replacement for the fuel line to the fuel filter that is a part of the fuel pump. The plastic hose is cut to fit the OEM length. After removing the OEM hose from the metal line, you push the cut to length piece onto the metal line and then connect the clip to the pump/filter. No, it does not get melted.
