Comments about Needa Parts Door Hinge Pin and Bushing Kit - 1 Pin, 2 Bushings and 1 Clip:

I replaced driver door hing pins and bushings in my 94 Ford Thunderbird 3 years ago. I had to replace again because the bushings wore out. I expected more than 3 years. Advance Auto Parts had these in stock and they fit, so they will keep my T-Bird on the road a few more years.

Comments about Needa Parts Door Hinge Pin and Bushing Kit - 1 Pin, 2 Bushings and 1 Clip:

This is absolutely NOT an exact fit for a 2002 ford ranger despite the website saying so.

The bushings are far too big for the holes in the hinges where they are supposed to press in.

Worse there is some small play between the new pin and the new bushings themselves.

So if you can install these, depending how bad your door was to start with, you might actually be making your problems worse by using this kit here.

These are the higest caliber junk money can buy. Find a hinge pin kit somewhere else.

The bushings are too big for the hole. Both bushings in either hole.

I showed the parts person at advance and he was also scratching his head>

I have a 1996 Grand Marquis. The description says this fits the bottom hinge; don't I need one for the top hinge as well? If so does Advance Auto offer one to fit?

how do you adjust a door so that shuts?

            A:

Great question, Cbread! I would first check to see if the strike plate has moved and attempt to realign that to the door if possible. If you need to adjust the door itself I've found an article from a well known periodical available online with some insight. For specific instructions to your vehicle make sure to look for a Chilton or Haynes repair manual for your vehicle. A:

Sorry, with reference to this Dorman - Help Door Hinge Pin and Bushing Kit - 1 Pin, 2 Bushings and 1 Clip as we do not provide installation service for items other than battery/oil, we are unable to help you with an approximate cost for installation. I would suggest taking your vehicle to a certified mechanic for a proper diagnosis. For any further assistance, you may also visit your nearest Advance Auto store or call us directly at 1-877-ADVANCE (238-2623) and one of our representatives there would be more than happy to assist you.

Will this work for the upper front? Napa, Advance, Autozone, only list a lower front kit, yet to my knowledge usually it's the upper bushings that wear out first.
