Comments about National Wheel Ball Bearing:

Look, your catalog says National part number 510003 is the front wheel bearing for a '96 Miata. It's not. I's twice as large as it should be. Thanks for wasting my time, jesus check your facts out before selling to the customer. Now I get to go back to the store, return these, and try all over again. With my car in the air and not drivable. genius.

Comments about National Wheel Ball Bearing:

The installation process takes some time
to press out the wheel drive flange and then
remove the snap ring, and then press out the wheel bearing out of the steering knuckle. It takes someone serious about doing automotive repair to replace this unit - with tools, know-how and the want to do get the job done. This is not for the Saturday afternoon novice who knows little or nothing about the job. A lot of grunt is involved.

I was told this bearing needs to be pressed in. If so where can some one get it done, or is there a tool anyone can buy?

            • CUSTOMER CARE

              A:

Front wheel hub bearings sometimes need to be pressed in and out due to the design of the bearing. You'll be needing a special tool called a hub bearing press, which is made specifically for pressing in and out wheel bearings. Without this tool, the process is virtually impossible to do without damaging the new bearing during installation.

Well this all depends on the skill level of whoever is removing or replacing the part. Some may have a harder time than others who have experience. I would recommend purchasing a Haynes repair manual specifically for your vehicle. This should be able to assist you further into detail on how to repair or replace specific parts.

If you have to ask, I would say no. This is a higly technical repair that requires experience and special tools and procedures.
Very easy to damage the new bearing if done incorrectly.
