Comments about National Taper Bearing Set:

These are great bearings and have always proven themselves to be good and long lasting. I always use national bearings when doing anything that calls for them and have never had a problem.

Comments about National Taper Bearing Set:

I bought this for my '02 F150 that was having a growling sound from the front end, and I knew it was the bearings. Sure enough, I got the old one off and you could tell is was contaminated. I replaced both inner and outer on both sides, truck seems to roll smoother now (I know that is just in my head). I used Valvoline Synthetic bearing grease and used the store brand seal and everything seems to be fine now.
And as far a National Bearings go, they are owned by Federal Moguel, who also owns Timken. Seem to be on par from everything I have read. Only thing I am not crazy about is they are made in China, but seems everything is these days.

Comments about National Taper Bearing Set:

The metal cage was a plus in my experience, the poly cage can be torqued out of round when doing the initial setting of the bearings. Truck is running straight and true. Be careful using the old race to install the new one. It goes in a bit far and if you don't have a large seal puller it could be difficult to get out. Use the thin side to tap the new one in, if it get stuck you can go from the other side and have a shelf to tap it out.

Hi Lawman, glad to assist you! This National Taper Bearing Set (Part No. A-18) is an exact front inner bearing for your 2007 Chrysler 300 Touring. For this item you would need to buy set, one for each wheel and what comes in it would be the bearing (the part on the right of the picture) and the race (the part on the left).

                    • Q:

National Taper Bearing Set part #A-18 says that this bearing is an "Exact Fit for your 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer" and did not ask if it was 2 or 4WD. It is 2WD but hub is set up for the 4x4
installation upgrade if wanted (has knurl/spline hole for axle).
That said, are there an inner and outer bearing in this hub, is
this part the "inner" or the "outer" bearing? A bigger question, is this hub serviceable?

                        A:

I'm happy to help, JV Mech! This National Taper Bearing Set (Part No. A-18) is intended for use in the front differential of the 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer 4.2L L6. The hub on your vehicle is not serviceable and is replaced with Moog Front Wheel Hub Assembly (Part No. 513188) or Driveworks Wheel Hub Assembly (Part No. NT513188).

The MOOG installation instructions can be found here: http://fme-cat.com/LiveDocs/Hub%20Installation%20Instructions.pdf. A repair manual for your vehicle, such as Haynes Part No. 24072 or Chilton Part No. 28880, will also provide detailed replacement instructions.

                        A:

I'm happy to help, Matt! This National Taper Bearing Set (Part No. A-18) is a front differential bearing for your 1998 Chevrolet Blazer 4.3L V6. This is not the correct part to replace your front wheel bearing. Your vehicle utilizes a unitized hub and bearing assembly such as MOOG Part No. 513124 for a 4WD or MOOG Part No. 513200 for a RWD.

You will not need to replace any seals and the unit requires no grease. If you have 4WD, you will need to replace your spindle nut. Advance Auto Parts offers two options from Dorman; Part No. 05177 or Part No. 615-095 for a distorted thread.

I'm happy to help, Bryon! The bearing does not have to be machine pressed into the differential. You may need a special tool to install it properly. Some other vehicle owners have used wood blocks, pipes or sockets. I suggest purchasing a repair manual for your vehicle for more detailed instructions on the replacement, Haynes Part No. 24071.
