This National taper bearing was used to replace a rear wheel bearing in a 2002 Ford Explorer which had worn out. The bearing is easily pressed in but the complete knuckle must be removed from the vehicle to perform the task.

This is the roller bearing for the rear hubs. if you have a bad hub assembly you can save a few bucks and just replace the roller bearing instead of the entire hub.

                        A:

Hello John! This #816008 wheel bearing does not have a tone ring for ABS built into it, because the applications that it is listed for does not require it (they get their sensor signal from somewhere else). Please provide us with the details of your application (including the year, make and model) and I will be happy to provide you with the correct product that can be used if available.

Need to replace the rear wheel bearing in my 2002 ford explorer 4x4/awd. Replaced the other side just a few months ago with the entire hub. Can I just replace the bad bearing and if so what do need to get for a bearing.

                        A:

Hi Lori, glad to assist you! You can just replace the wheel bearing alone instead the replacing the whole assembly. However, I would suggest that you to take your vehicle and get it thoroughly checked by a certified mechanic before buying any parts that may/may not solve the problem.
