      Comments about National Ball Bearing:

The rubber support around the bearing is no good! An inspection after 3 yrs of use finds the rubber cushioning support that holds the bearing in place, to be falling apart in strips. When first installed, I found the rubber to be too soft and spongy. If I started out too quickly the torque would cause the bearing to vibrate around in the soft rubber. I should have returned it then for refund while still under warranty. At least I noticed the failing rubber before it left me stranded. The original on my 91 nissan pu 4cyl lasted 16 yrs. It had only minor aged stress cracks. I just wanted to replace it for reliability. But now the 3yr old National HB-6 is in much worse shape than the 16 yr old original. AVOID THIS PRODUCT unless you want to sabotage your auto. I might be replacing with a Timken next but will closely look at the rubber before buying. Been burnt by China garbage enough times.
