Comments about MSD Ignition Street Fire Ignition Control, Universal:

I used this on my 383 stroker motor with a proform distributor and a 50,000v coil. It worked good after I soldered all the wires and used the proper diode for run-on reasons. Basically a decent box> I got slightly better gas mileage, but the throttle response was much better compared to my HEI distributor on its own. The plugs were not fouling as much and the carburetor can be tuned down a little due to the ignition box giving the better timed sparks. The bad part was the run on issue you have to use the provided diode to kill the constant spark provided by igntion wire. make sure your ground is clean this is a very sensitive box shortening the wires will help, but remeber the better the contact the better it will run. This is a good factory upgrade, but dont use it on anything Hi-performance you will have a hard time getting it to keep up with your heavier duration camshaft.

Comments about MSD Ignition Street Fire Ignition Control, Universal:

i got this to replace the old unreliable igntion in my old 84 dodge ram with a 318,the hardest part i found was finding a place to put it.When i did this i used the same autolite wire and platinum plugs i put in several months ago and it works great.I replaced the old coil and custom mounter a Blaster 3 and it works great.only bad things are is there is wireing that must be done right so dont duct tape it in.Also i had a old old old sunpro tach from the 80`s that will need a adapter or be replaced. Aprt from that just basic wiring.I love it now and it add reliabiltiy plus stomp your foot down and the truck took off like it always dreamed of!

I would suggest taking your vehicle to a certified mechanic for a proper diagnosis before buying and having parts installed that may not (solve/be) the problem.
