OEM form, fit & function. Body is non rusting stainless steel. Comes with new fuel line retaining clips in case you break old ones. Filter media meets Fords particle size filtering specs. Only gripe, Should, but didn't have covers over the filters open end line fittings to keep out debris during shipment.
Convenient on line shopping with fast in store pick up for those who know what they need.

As usual the filter comes with the wrong clips in the box. I have the same problem every time I change a filter. Other name brand filters have the same problem. Think the newer cars use thicker clips and older vehicles use thin clips. The clips that come in the box are thick and will not work. Worse thing is you have to buy a small box of assorted clips 6 in a box for $4 or $5 only to have 2 usable clips as the others are different sizes. I'm sure the cost of the clips is about 25 cents wholesale, huge markup on 6 small plastic clips.

Comments about Motorcraft Original Equipment Fuel Filter:

I have used the Motorcraft gas filters for many years and never had a problem. They do not rust like many other replacements do. Make sure the two retaining clips are in the box. Five minutes and you are done.

Comments about Motorcraft Original Equipment Fuel Filter:

Part Quality Was High, Fit was exact. I used this part to help isolate a P0174 "Bank 2 Lean" code on a 4.6-L 98 Continental. After checking for obvious Vacuum leaks and without tools to test MAF sensor or Fuel Rail Pressure I replaced Fuel Filter with 125,000 on it. The Original filter was packed with sediment and was the cause of the issue. Advance has good pricing model and part was at the store most close to my daily commute, cleared code and passed inspection with one week left on the sticker.

Comments about Motorcraft Original Equipment Fuel Filter:

Easy to change in 10 minutes. I was stunned as to how much dirt was in this thing . I only use name brand gas, and the tank is plastic. I drained the old filter into a coke bottle and the fuel coming out left in it was black. I let it settle. It was amazing how much this held. I'd recommend chaning it at 60,000 at the most from now on. It had to be a strain on the fuel pump. Cheap insurance.

Comments about Motorcraft Original Equipment Fuel Filter:

The fuel filter hangs under the car by a bracket, and often is forgotten about until, after neglect, it becomes clogged. It is not greatly difficult to access the filter, undo the bracket, and take off the two ends that connect to the filter. Make sure you notice which way the arrow of flow is oriented to the old filter in order to put the new one in correct and avoid problems. The clips are a little fussy, but not that bad. The only other thing to be aware of is the gasoline that will come out as you disconnect the old filter . . . perhaps clamps would help. Also remember to turn the ignition key to just on, then off, a couple of times so the fuel pump is engaged and gets the fuel flowing again before starting. That way you won't be wearing on the starter.

The main function of a fuel filter is to filter out, or trap, debris particles and/or contaminants from flowing fuel. Fuel filters are a common addition to automotive engines, where they are placed in varied locations between a car's fuel tank and its carburetor or fuel injection system. Fuel filters ensure that gasoline entering a car's engine is as clean and pure as possible.
