Comments about Motor Medic Motor Flush:

I was in the quick lube business for nearly 14 years. I've seen my share of poorly maintained and neglected engines during my career. Had numerous cars come through my shop that read full on the dipstick, yet wouldn't even drain when the plug was removed. We always used this engine flush as directed and I've always been amazed at how much 'gunk' would drain after it was circulated in the engine.

I just recently used it in my own engine after I repaired a cracked cylinder head and had some excessive buildup in my oil pan and valve covers. Poured this stuff in per the directions and let it idle for about 10 minutes. As the title says, it works as advertised.

I have a 2002 chevy Silverado with the 5.3 vortec motor and my lifters started to not pump up and I was loosong oil pressure. I went to advance and they recommended this oil flush with the engine optimizer for after the flush. I followed the easy steps and got great results. It cleaned my engine restored the oil pressure and now I am not worried about replacing my engine.

This stuff really works. The oil collected in my pan was incredibly black and seemed to have particles in it...and I know I hadn't driven my SUV in any extremely dirty areas. It's a 1997 and I decided to try this product to see if it worked. It does. I followed the directions and got excellent results...the SUV runs very smoothly. I will repeat the treatment at my next oil change since my vehicle has 160,000 miles on it and I bought it used--and don't know if this has ever been done before. Based upon the results of my first test, I think the second usage will complete the job. I highly recommend this!

Used half the bottle on my 89 Jeep Cherokee 4.0L i6 with 165k miles and the other half on my moms 2006 Cadillac SRX 3.6L V6 with 95k miles. If you are afraid of loosened sludge getting stuck somewhere, then use half the bottle for 3-4min instead of 5. Repeat that every time and you wont have any more sludge. I recommend buying very good synthetic oil after using this.

Excellent Product cleaned every gasket including head gasket.Best to use when engine is already warm unlike the bottle states cold best case scenario is to before an oil change drive the vehicle 5 to 10 miles to warm the engine at optimum temperature then turn off the engine next pour the contents into the oil filler cap and start the engine let it idle for 5 minutes with a stop watch (Do Not press gas pedal).then remove the filter and drain oil pan.Let it drain for 30 minutes then fill with fresh clean oil and idle for 30 seconds. One sad detail is it smells strongly of kerosene and will degrade paint.but it does removes rust from interior engine parts.Best to use every 3 or four oil changes

It seems to work - the engine has never had any internal work, but a peek inside the valve cover through the filler hole reveals no gunk or grime at all, squeaky clean. I add a quart of Gunk before every oil change, run it for at least 5 minutes, no more than 10 minutes, and then drain it thoroughly. It drains faster because it thins the oil, and they say to be careful on high mileage cars since it could loosen up large deposits all at once. I've used it since the car was new in 1989, and it now has just under 600,000 miles on it. I'd say it's working, though luck and other factors certainly play a role.

Hi Eggs, good question! Yes, the oil can be drained after the motor flush is used and your crackcase will not be overfilled. You can follow these directions while using this flush. Check that the engine oil is at a safe level of operation. Then add motor flush to a cold engine before changing the filter and oil. Idle engine at normal speed for 5 minutes. The motor flush will circulate throughout the entire lubricating system of your engine removing sludge, gums and varnishes from the engine and oil pan. It also frees the sticking valves and rings. Then drain oil and remove the oil filter. Finally replace the filter and drain plug and refill engine with new oil.

Hi Kyle, the Motor Medic Motor Flush (Part No. MF3) directions are as follows: 1. Check to make certain oil in crankcase is up to safe level. 2. Add MOTORMEDIC Motor Flush to cold engine before changing oil and filter. Idle engine at normal speed for 5 minutes. DO NOT DRIVE THE VEHICLE. MOTORMEDIC Motor Flush will circulate throughout the entire lubricating system of your engine dissolving sludge, gums and varnishes from engine and oil pan. It also frees sticking valves and rings. 3. Drain crankcase and remove oil filter. Replace drain plug and install new oil filter. NOTE: On engines with 75,000 miles or excessive deposits, remove and clean the oil pan to minimize the risk of engine damage. 4. Refill crankcase with oil. NOTE: Extremely dirty engines may require repeat treatment. Follow directions 1 to 4.

I managed to get water in my oil, drained it ready to add fresh & see what happens. Any hints on an additive that will eliminate the residual water. I know I'm a bonehead!

I would not suggest you for the Liquid Wrench High-Mileage 5-Minute Motor Flush as this works to remove sludge and varnish to free sticky valves, rings and drain passages. You may have an issue with the drain valve in the oil filter housing, but it sounds most like a bad gerator pump (low pressure oil pump). However, I would suggest taking your vehicle to a certified mechanic for a proper diagnosis before buying and having parts installed that may not (solve/be) the problem.

my car has about 110k miles, and I got the car when it was about 90k miles. I normally use full synthetic oil. I was thinking about using one of these products right before oil change. I get mix feeling from the answers here.
Basically I wanted to know if I put this product in my car, and drive to get oil change which is like 10 miles away; will it do any adverse effect to my car engine given that my car won't be in the idle state for about 10-15 mins?
Also if my engine gets damaged by using this product, does the manufacturer pay for the new engine?
                              thanks

This Liquid Wrench High-Mileage 5-Minute Motor Flush with Part No. MF3 is safe to use in your 100K+ mile car. It is recommended to only run it for 5 minutes and then dump the oil and you have to do that in Idle and NOT when driving. When you are not draining the Gunk after use, it might create problems. So follow the instructions and use this Motor flush and you will see the difference. Sorry, the manufacturer will not pay for any of the losses occurred.

Any engine flush is based on diesel byproducts. If flush is left in the system, it will remove some gunk and soften anything remaining, BUT the oil will not be so effective as lubricant as it will be dissolved and on top of that all the dirt will be recirculated in the system. Now any additional additives in the flush could be reactive with some metals or can degrade any rubber parts or gaskets in the system. It is better to drain the engine from flush and old oil and if you are not happy with the result flush it one more time.

No, this Solder Seal/Gunk High-Mileage 5-Minute Motor Flush with part# MF3 will not damage a high mileage engine as it breaks down the deposits that normally develop in the combustion chamber and components of the heads. Add the HIGH MILEAGE ENGINE FLUSH by Gunk to your engine oil, then you let your vehicle idle for about 10-15 minutes. After the vehicle has idled for the amount of time given, you change your oil.The flush is suppose to help remove the oil sludge that builds up inside your engine.
