Bought for my 2000 Dodge Dakota 3.9 v6 Quad cab. I have some rough roads where I live, so my front end takes a beating.
At the time, I was hearing a whining in the front, and when I took left turns, the noise went away. I figured left turn takes the weight off of the left side, so I figured my left hub was done. Turns out my theory was wrong when I replaced and the dreaded squeel returned. So, I took the old hub and swapped with the right and the noise was gone.

In the end, I bought two and am running them now nice and quietly. I am hearing a grinding, but I don't think it is the hub, I suspect brakes on that one. If it is the hub, I will update this review.

Replaced year old assemblies on both front wheels. Once axle nut was loosened, rest of exchange went very smoothly! Parts fit perfectly. Hopefully the new Moog parts last much longer than the last product used!

Comments about MOOG Hub Assemblies Front Wheel Hub Assembly:

This came in a MOOG box, but was made in China. Much quieter than the one that I replaced. Hope it last longer than the other no name brand that I used previously from another store. It was easy to install and had a three year warranty. After replacing three of these in two years (of another brand from another store) I am curious to see if this will last longer. At least the warranty is three years instead off one year like the last one, and it was $10.00 cheaper. It has been a pain replacing these in less than 1 year so I am excited to have a part with a 3 year warranty.

                      A:

I'm happy to help, Jman! The MOOG wheel hub assembly does not contain a new spindle nut or retainer. I do not see any exact fit replacement for the spindle nut. There is for the retainer, Dorman Part No. 615-080. For more specific instructions on the replacement of the wheel hub assembly on your 1997-2004 Dodge Dakota or 1998-2003 Dodge Durango, I recommend a repair manual, Haynes Part No. 30022.

                    • A:

if the hub assembly sticks and is hard to get loose after removing retaining nut and three bolts, do not use a hammer to pound it loose. use a jaw puller to pull hub off the spindle. if you do not have one big enough, go to your local auto parts store that has loaner tools. you will have to pay a deposit, but will get the money back when you return it to the store. this will save a lot of time and frustration without damaging the spindle.
