MOOG Problem Solver products incorporate proven design and engineering features to ensure like new steering, ease of installation and longer life. MOOG is the preferred steering and suspension parts brand of professional technicians and NASCAR Crew Chiefs.

Product Features:
  • Problem Solver® powdered metal gusher bearing design enables grease to flow through the bearing to the stud for reduced friction and enhanced strength and stability.
  • Problem Solver® patented cover plate design allows for tighter tolerances vs traditional cover plate designs, providing a more durable and extended life part.
  • Exclusive cover plate protects against contaminants leaking into the bearing surface.
  • MOOG® engineered steel composition results in a stronger component. Full ball metal stud provides 360 degrees of smooth, consistent, rotational movement resulting in more responsive steering.
  • An enlarged ball joint receptacle in the lower control arm can cause a loose ball joint fit. MOOG® Problem Solver® design includes an oversized housing for a more secure fit.
  • Greaseable socket design allows new lubricant to flush contaminants from the assembly, reducing corrosion and wear.

Comments about MOOG Ball Joint:

Removing and installing of ball joint is simple if you are a mechanic and have knowledge of using a press and yes you do have to be mechanically inclined. Find a pipe to fit over your ratchet for leverage it is not recommended using impact cause it creates heat and too much will damage the press bolt threads and you can also misaligne the part and damage the part and or control arm you are trying to save from an expensive replacement or long waiting time when you absolutely need the parts now not next week.

Worked well and made a big difference once it was installed. The nice thing is that it has grease fittings so it can be lubed up when you get an oil change

Good product but when installed, the top was not long enough to install snap ring. Unit is shorter than the A-Arm thickest.

I think MOOG should give Ford Motors a bonus check every year until Ford Motors installs quality ball joints in their autos.Don't worry MOOG, Ford Motors would never think about putting any quality part of any kind in their autos!Yes they build junk.

As usual Moog built the best one available. Has grease fitting, and looks to be better made than factory. If your front end squeaks while sitting still and turning the steering wheel, this is the problem. Don't use heat to install this!

              • A:

On the lower ball joints, yes you can replace them. Upper ball joints you have to replace the entire upper control arm UNLESS you go with a control arm brand similar to MOOG, which has removable ball joints for their upper control arms. Hope this helps!
