  • Problem Solver® patented cover plate design allows for tighter tolerances vs traditional cover plate designs, providing a more durable and extended life part.
  • Exclusive cover plate protects against contaminants leaking into the bearing surface.
  • MOOG® engineered steel composition results in a stronger component. Full ball metal stud provides 360 degrees of smooth, consistent, rotational movement resulting in more responsive steering.

I had the ball joint installed because I didn't have the tools needed to do it, but so far everything seems fine. No more free play or uneven tire wear.

            Comments about MOOG Ball Joint:

One of the best parts about buying components like this....that often require special tools, is that Advance Auto has a great "loaner" program. They even lent me a special tool recently when I wasn't buying anything at all! Of course there's a security deposit, but you get that back when you return the tool. Anyone who does their own work knows that having the right tool at the right time can make all the difference in the world between satisfied with how it's going, or super frustrated because you just can't quite get it done.

Moog makes the best chassis parts on the market by far. They are more cash up front but they will last the longest. They have a lifetime guarantee so save that receipt.

                        • Q:

The description for the Moog Problem Solver ball joint says: An enlarged ball joint receptacle in the lower control arm can cause a loose ball joint fit. MOOG® Problem Solver® design includes an oversized housing for a more secure fit.

I have no idea if my ball joint receptical is enlarged or worn. Will the oversize housing fit a stock application if the ball joint receptacale is not enlarged?

Can the oversized housing cause installation problems that can be avoided by using a ball joint the meets OEM size specs?

Happy to help you with your question Trekohio! In the description where it says it uses an enlarged ball joint receptacle it just means the socket where the ball goes is larger internally so it can be more secure, the entire unit is not physically larger. Be sure to check the fit of your vehicle on our website before purchasing.
