Well I bought these to replace the bad ball joints on my truck, one of which was the same as this ball joint. The bad joint only lasted 10,000 miles so I'm hoping this pair of Moogs last a little longer. I was disappointed to get one of the new ball joints with a missing nut. I returned the ball joint with the missing nut to my local AAP where it was exchanged for another Moog. I brought the new moog home and upon working the install I noticed that there was no cotter pin. So 1 out of 3 ball joints contained all of the necessary hardware, which consists of 4 parts. Kind of disappointing that Moog can't even fill the hardware bags correctly. Hopefully the ball joints last for a few years.

          Comments about Moog Ball Joint:

Installed this part Moog K3134T last year, has about 10k miles on it. The ball joint is designed with excessive travel in the socket for installation and alignment per the included documents, but should you go for a vehicle inspection with the excessive travel in the joint your vehicle will fail. Maybe they should tell the inspection stations, the joint is designed that way. If you have a choice of ball joints, I would not use this one. After 10k miles I have to replace all 4 ball joints again.

im curious as to why this part is completely incased in steel around the stud area? some of the ball joints sold you can actualy move them around but are very hard to do so.... this ball joint is completely incased in steel near the stud area so it does not move any what so ever no matter how hard u push.... so whats the difference? which is actualy better? i would think the joint is suppose to move a little other wise why didnt manufactures just weld the parts instead of adding a ball joint to connect them together? it doesnt make sense... etheir one of the parts is incorrectly made or some thing is up.....

I'm happy to help, James! I see that the ball joint stud does look as though its movement would be limited. MOOG makes a high quality suspension product and is the official suspension product of NASCAR. MOOG will generally improve upon the original equipment design to provide more reliable service than the original equipment. This stud should still allow for some movement. MOOG provides a wealth of information about their ball joints here: http://www.moogproblemsolver.com/suspension/ball-joints
