Check Vehicle Fit

Monroe® Strut-Mate® mounting kits are direct fit replacements designed to complement the ride control characteristics of Monroe® struts. In addition, our full line will provide you with late model original equipment coverage. When doing strut replacements, it is important to do the complete job. This means not only replacing the struts but also inspecting and replacing worn strut mounts. Remember, worn strut mounts can adversely affect a vehicle's safety and handling. Not only are strut mounts a necessary component of the suspension system, they consist of rubber to metal bonded parts that wear out over time as well. Worn bearings may also cause noise, steering binding, vibration and vehicle pull. Strut-Mate® mounting kits can include (as applicable by OE design): Strut Mount, Bearing, Upper Spring Isolator, Lower Spring Isolator, or Upper Spring Seat.

Product Features:
  • Replacing all your worn strut components ensures a complete repair
  • High-Quality premium strut components
  • Engineered for superior fit and performance

        • Q:

The description states this kit is for the second design Monroe strut. Will this kit also work with the OE strut? I only have 20k miles and the struts are fine just need the mounting kit to stop noise.

        • Q:

If you mount an unmarked base strut mount how do you determine the exact alignment as the original base strut mount? I ask because these aftermarket base strut mounts are not marked at all on the top side. The original base strut mount has an arrow showing the location to where it was originally sitting on the coil before it was removed.

It includes other OE replacement strut mounting components necessary for the installation of a new Monroe strut assembly. It will be the direct fit and exact replica of the original factory parts and More than ensuring a complete and worry-free installation.

What does this do? Is this an option or performance?

This does not have to be replaced every time and it is not for performance either. This is a replacement if your current strut mounts need to be replaced.

          • A:

I don't feel that Mike was elaborate enough with his answer... This "2nd design" strut mount kit is for the current "newer" style of front struts that Monroe is producing and Advance is selling for these vehicles. It is required for the newer style struts, as they are a little different in design (improved) than the older style struts (no longer being sold by Advance) that mimicked the OEM struts. You will need one of these strut mount kits for each strut that you replace, and they fit either left or right strut. Although not "necessary" to replace, it is very highly recommended that you replace these mounts every time you install new struts. The strut tower bearing and rubber mounting that this mount kit is made up of tend to break down and wear out by the time your vehicle's struts are worn out, and any good experienced mechanic will not install struts without replacing the upper mount kits as well.
