The Monroe Sensa-Trac load adjusting shock absorber with PSD (position sensitive damping) and the Safe Tech system combines our exclusive precision tapered grooves in the pressure tube with application engineered valving and Fluon banded piston to improve the ride, handling, and safety characteristics of the vehicle. These units also include a heavy gauge calibrated spring for extra control and comfort. A new pair of Monroe Sensa-Trac load adjusting shock absorbers can assist in maintaining ride height when up to 1,200 lbs* of additional weight is loaded. These units are ideal for light trucks that carry varying loads or tow trailers. *Capacity is limited by vehicle suspension, tires and transmission. See vehicle owner's manual for details.

Product Features:
  • All Weather Fluid: Contains special modifiers to reduce friction and ensure smooth rod reaction.
  • Full Displaced Valving: Tuned specifically for each application, this valving automatically adjusts to road extremes to provide consistency and ride
  • Fluon Banded Piston: The fluon band provides consistent sealing between the piston and pressure tube which delivers better control and increased durability.
  • Heavy Gauge Calibrated Coil Spring: Computer designed for maximum performance without an increase in ride harshness.
  • Unique Groove Tube - PSD: Precision tapered grooves in the pressure tube perform like an additional stage of valving for optimum ride tuning.
  • 5/8" Piston Rod: Heavy-duty nitrocarburized rod for long service life. On non-dust shield units only
  • Nitrogen Gas Charged: For improved ride and handling, helps maintain tire to road contact by reducing aeration.
  • Special Seal: "Self-lubricating" fluid seal designed to retain gas without excessive wear or friction.

Comments about Monroe Sensa-Trac Load Adjusting Shock Absorber:

This is a great product. My 98 ford explorer was sagging in the rear so I installed this shocks. The ride height was corrected and the truck looks great. It makes the ride quality a little more bumpy but i actually prefer it that way. This is a great product if you haul heavy items. the main reason i bought these shocks was so I could haul my trailer and not put strain on my truck,. zI definitely would recommend this product to anybody looking for performance shocks. They will outlast any regular gas shocks

Put these on the rear axle of my Explorer Sport. They picked up the rear of the vehicle which makes the vehicle look a lot better. Lifted the bumper height 3 inches. Not the reason I bought them, just an added benefit. They stabilized the rear of the vehicle. EXCELLENT PRODUCT AT A GREAT PRICE.

On the 2001 Explorer Sport these were a breeze to install. Truck rides much better. Replacing the front this weekend. Should feel like a new truck. And this will help the sagging rear end issue on most all older Explorers. I'm very happy so far.

Arrived quickly. Nice product, however Ford made it very difficult to install the left rear shock. Took a couple hours to install all of them. But Im a do it yourselfer and refuse to pay a shop a couple hundred dollars for something I can do myself. In e the end all was good and they made a tremendous difference on the suspension. Two thumbs up!!

This is an excellent shock to give my ford explorer stability and to resolve the saggy rear end that ford explorers are known for! Easy to install. I tow boats, snowmobiles etc and needed the rear end to be stable and firm. These shocks are the right choice. The shocks raised the back of my truck a good 1 1/2 - 2 inches (back to how it should be)
