The Monroe Sensa-Trac truck shock absorber with PSD (position sensitive damping) and the Safe Tech system combines our exclusive precision tapered grooves in the pressure tube with application engineered valving and Fluon banded piston to improve the ride, handling, and safety characteristics of the vehicle. These features allow the Monroe Sensa-Trac truck shock absorber to adjust more rapidly to changing road and weight conditions than any other available shock absorber.

Product Features:
  • All Weather Fluid: Contains special modifiers to reduce friction and ensure smooth rod reaction
  • Full Displaced Valving: Tuned specifically for each application, this valving automatically adjusts to road extremes to provide consistency and ride
  • Fluon Banded Piston: The fluon band provides consistent sealing between the piston and pressure tube which delivers better control and increased durability.
  • 1-3/8" Bore: Lower operating pressure than standard 1" bore units
  • Unique Groove Tube - PSD: Precision tapered grooves in the pressure tube perform like an additional stage of valving for optimum ride tuning.
  • Nitrogen Gas Charged: For improved ride and handling, helps maintain tire to road contact by reducing aeration.
  • 5/8" Piston Rod: Heavy-duty nitrocarburized rod for long service life. On non-dust shield units only
  • Special Seal: "Self-lubricating" fluid seal designed to retain gas without excessive wear or friction.

Comments about Monroe Sensa-Trac Light Truck Shock Absorber:

I got these to go on the front of my Chevy K1500 to replace old noisy KYBs that were on there since I bought the truck. The KYB worked good, but the noise was driving me nuts. These Monroe gave me a somewhat stiffer ride, but they are completely silent. Easy install, good ride, good price, good performance.

Comments about Monroe Sensa-Trac Light Truck Shock Absorber:

Well its The Monroe Sensa-Trac truck shock absorber with PSD (position sensitive damping) and the Safe Tech system; I would hope yall know what its used for. You guessed it I used it for that very thing on my 1989 chevy real 4x4 truck. It does what it says it will do the way its should. The only thing that would had made the install better is if new fasteners were included in the box. I would recommend using some form of rust buster; like a liquid wrench or the like on the bolts pre dis-assembly.

Comments about Monroe Sensa-Trac Light Truck Shock Absorber:

I ordered my shocks online and picked them up at the store. Autozone is flawless with this process.

The shocks were easy to install on my 98 Sierra. I installed them last night and have only taken the truck for a test ride over some well-known rough roads. They performed much better than the last shocks (60k on them)but I'm not yet ready to give them a full thumbs up. On installation, I wasn't impressed with the travel on these shocks. However.. they DID perform well on rutted asphault. I'll follow-up the rating after a month of use.

Comments about Monroe Sensa-Trac Light Truck Shock Absorber:

I work in houston, the freeways are good but at fast speeds the roads do take a toll on my trucks suspension .these shocks seem to be doing a excellent performance in handling in curves and hard breaking. As I wrote before I crisscross from 288 in Pearland merging unto 45 all the way to belt way 8.I encounter every kind road surface from asphalt to concrete and even a bit of shell road. My GMC Yukon4x4 is handling very very well,I am getting ready to replace the rear shocks but, I wanted to test these first .I had more expensive ones before and these are working great.

Comments about Monroe Sensa-Trac Light Truck Shock Absorber:

We coupled these with the load adjustable rear shocks on our 1999 K1500 4x4 Suburban at 249,000 miles. Has improved the handling immensley and provides a very smooth ride. The guys had to tag team to put these on the front as far as getting the top bolts in, but still finished both fronts in less than an hour. We did find the previous reviews by those who had installed them very helpful! Great price!
