Monroe® Reflex® monotube shocks are specifically engineered to provide better handling, control and performance for light trucks and SUV's. These shocks feature a high-pressure gas charge that separates the unit internal oil and nitrogen to provide additional spring rate, helping to maximize damping efficiency and control. To further enhance ride control characteristics, Monroe® Reflex® monotube shocks include a hydraulic lockout to cushion the impact as the vehicle suspension is fully extended.

Product Features:
  • Hydraulic Lockout: Patented unique hydraulic lock-out isolates impact at the limits of suspension travel
  • All Weather Fluid: Contains special modifiers to reduce friction and ensure smooth rod reaction.
  • High Pressure Nitrogen Gas Charged: High-pressure charge (240-260 PSI) provides a quicker response for excellent vehicle control
  • Shock Housing: High strength to resist damage and provide longer service life.
  • Nitrocarburized Rod: For long service life
  • Fluon Banded Piston: The fluon band provides consistent sealing between the piston and pressure tube which delivers better control and increased durability.
  • Free Floating Dividing Piston: Separates shock fluid from high-pressure gas charge.

I think the mechanics at the Shop I go to are Lazy, I have 160k on my hoe and around 130 they made it sound like they where practically still new, I knew they were full of it.
There was BILSTEN Stock Shocks on and I replaced them with these and Holy Moly what a Difference.
The Front especially. It leveled out the front end with the rear and when I replaced the rear it help lift it back up a little. Over all ride is unbelievably different. My main focus was every time I go off road its HARD in your GUT. I knew it was going o make a little difference but not as much as it did.
Ive read other peoples negative responses and when it comes down to the install its all about having the right tools and using a little elbow grease.
It was more difficult to take off the wheel than actually replacing the shocks.

Smooth
No more Rolling
No more Diving
Better Launch

Ive had KYB's in many other vehicles and they have been OK but never in a Truck before.
So I tried these and no regrets.

Bought all 4 new shocks. The rest of the suspension, at 98,000, was nice and tight. While they are easy to install, these shocks give an absolutely horrible, harsh ride. They are not progessive shocks like the factory originals and my Avalache now rides like a 1 ton truck instead of the upscale SUT it was intended to be. Bottom line, you get what you pay for. While they will keep your truck from bouncing, I would NOT recommend these I you care about having a comfortable ride.

Comments about Monroe Reflex Monotube Shock Absorber:

Had these installed all the way around my 04 GMC Yukon XL which had original shocks w/ 136k miles. Immediately noticed the lack of front end dive while using the brakes. Here in SE Pennsylvania, potholes and manhole covers abound on every road. Minor road imperfections which used to cause the chassis to upset itself while driving are now nearly unnoticeable. Used a 20% discount coupon when purchasing the set so the already good price was even better. I wish I had done this at the 100k mile mark as my 12 year old Yukon rides and handles nearly as well as she did new. Can't go wrong with these!

Comments about Monroe Reflex Monotube Shock Absorber:

These shocks seemed to be quite a bit smaller than the original manufacture's shocks. I was concerned about this fact as soon as I saw the shocks. Remembering all the positive feedback on your web sight, I decided to go ahead with the installation. They were very easy to install. We have had these shocks on the Tahoe for about 3 weeks now, and made one 6 hour trip and one 4-1/2 hour trip. We have NOT noticed a difference in the ride.We are very satisfied so far with our choice. thanks for keeping feedback on your products.

Comments about Monroe Reflex Monotube Shock Absorber:

I have an 04 Z71 Tahoe w/ ~187k miles. Just changed the front and rear shocks out with these Monroe Reflexes. I went for a test drive and these improved the ride of my Tahoe drastically! I was debating if I was going to go for the Bilstein 5100s. I chose these due to price and positive reviews and am glad I did. We'll see how durable they are as time goes on, I will keep you updated for sure. Also, from here on out I will most definitely change my shocks every 50k or so. Also be sure to take advantage of the Shocktober buy 3, get 1 free rebate.

                  A:

Most of the shock damper sensor works only with the factory shocks. Once you replace the shocks there is no need to use these sensors and you can disconnect them. You will not see a warning light once it has been disconnected completely.
