Check Vehicle Fit

Monroe Reflex monotube shocks are specifically engineered to provide better handling, control and performance for light trucks and SUV's. These shocks feature a high-pressure gas charge that separates the unit internal oil and nitrogen to provide additional spring rate, helping to maximize damping efficiency and control. To further enhance ride control characteristics, Monroe Reflex monotube shocks include a hydraulic lockout to cushion the impact as the vehicle suspension is fully extended.

Product Features:
  • Hydraulic Lockout: Patented unique hydraulic lock-out isolates impact at the limits of suspension travel
  • Free Floating Dividing Piston: Separates shock fluid from high-pressure gas charged
  • All Weather Fluid: Contains special modifiers to reduce friction and ensure smooth rod reaction.
  • High Pressure Nitrogen Gas Charged: High-pressure charge (240-260 PSI) provides a quicker response for excellent vehicle control.
  • Nitro carburized Rod: For long service life.
  • Fluon Banded Piston: The fluon band provides consistent sealing between the piston and pressure tube which delivers better control and increased durability.

I think the mechanics at the Shop I go to are Lazy, I have 160k on my hoe and around 130 they made it sound like they where practically still new, I knew they were full of it.
There was BILSTEN Stock Shocks on and I replaced them with these and Holy Moly what a Difference.
The Front especially. It leveled out the front end with the rear and when I replaced the rear it help lift it back up a little. Over all ride is unbelievably different. My main focus was every time I go off road its HARD in your GUT. I knew it was going o make a little difference but not as much as it did.
Ive read other peoples negative responses and when it comes down to the install its all about having the right tools and using a little elbow grease.
It was more difficult to take off the wheel than actually replacing the shocks.

Smooth
No more Rolling
No more Diving
Better Launch

Ive had KYB's in many other vehicles and they have been OK but never in a Truck before.
So I tried these and no regrets.

I put these on my yukon xl because the guy at the counter said these were the best. They rode like they were just straight rods instead of shocks. Very hard. Yes, the truck handles better. I looked at this site and found at the bottom of the specs for this part it says "not for ZW7 smooth ride package" would have been nice if the guy asked me if that is what I have. I ended up with the regular reflex shocks

2003 Chevrolet Tahoe RWD 106,000 miles: Didn't realize how bad my old shocks were! So far I've noticed smoother ride and better braking. Front shocks didn't come with straps, so made install tad bit more difficult! So far I'm impressed!

Used these shocks when replacing all four in my 2004 Suburban with 240K miles. I did alot of research before buying. Almost bought the highly rated Bilsteins, but these came highly recommended by those who had installed them. They are musch less expensive than the Bilsteins. I can tell you it was the right move, these ride great, and were really easy to install.

Easy ordering process! Most importantly it gave my 03 Yukon XL a smooth tight ride I'd forgotten was possible. Solved the squealing I was hearing from two bad front shocks and completely changed the ride! Will give 5 stars if I'm still pleased with the performance 6-9 months from now.

My Dodge Ram steering and control were much improved over the 98K originals. Handles and rides tight without being rough. I just bought a pair for my wife's Commander and the back is much better. We will see what happens with the front struts. Just purchased a 2002 Dodge Ram that needs them as well, will put them on next week; expect the same improvement. Especially interested because the Dodge has only a 5 inch throw of the front shocks.

I bought the Reflex to replace the stock rear shocks on my 2000 suburban 1500 4x4. we loaded it up for a small camping trip and they bottomed out. this never happened with the stock, and we often loaded our truck with 4 to 5 times the weight. They are a smooth ride when the suburban is empty, but I would never recommend them for some one who actually loads their truck up.. I took them off and put the used stock shocks back on,, even used, they hold up better to weight.
