The Monroe Reflex® truck shock absorber with the patented ASD Technology combines specially tuned valving with a Fluon banded piston. The ASD valve has the ability to sense acceleration to improve the handling, safety, and overall ride characteristics of sport-utility vehicles, mini-vans and light trucks. The ASD base valve will sense a bump in the road and automatically adjust the shock to absorb the impact, leaving the shock with greater control when it is needed. The features of the Monroe® Reflex® truck shock absorber make it the superior shock for improved handling, safety, and comfort in all road conditions.

Product Features:
  • ASD Technology: Innovative valving provides greater control for handling, while improving ride comfort.
  • All Weather Fluid: Contains special modifiers to reduce friction and ensure smooth rod reaction.
  • Fluon Banded Piston: The fluon band provides consistent sealing between the piston and pressure tube which delivers better control and increased durability.
  • Full Displaced Valving: Tuned specifically for each application, this valving automatically adjusts to road extremes to provide consistency and ride
  • Nitrogen Gas Charged: For improved ride and handling, helps maintain tire to road contact by reducing aeration - on most applications
  • 2-1/4 inch or 2 inch Diameter Reserve Tube: Allows more fluid carrying capacity for a cooler running unit.
  • 1-3/8 inch Bore: Lower operating pressure than standard 1 inch bore units
  • 5/8 inch Piston Rod: Heavy-duty nitrocarburized rod for long service life. On non-dust shield units only
  • Special Seal: 'Self-lubricating' fluid seal designed to retain gas without excessive wear or friction.

Comments about Monroe Reflex Light Truck Shock Absorber:

Exact fit (hint: sawzall away top thread of old shock) Ride on rough asphalt and bush roads restored to as good as new. Installed in conjunction with 911131 front shocks. Had to grind a 5/8" open end wrench to 1/8" thick to hold shock when tightening top nut.

Comments about Monroe Reflex Light Truck Shock Absorber:

I installed this on my 2001 F150 Supercrew. I prefer a very taut, firm , controlled ride and dislike a soft mushy ride. Most of my driving is on good city/highway roads. These shocks are very firm - with a confidence inspiring ride. On normal city streets the small bumps like small traffic bumps are almost harsh - a bit rougher than the stock ride. But... on the BIG potholes and BIG traffic dots (the stuff you really don't want to hit) the ride is quite smooth given the size of the obstacle. In summary - the small( 1/4 - 1 inch) bumps are more noticeable than expected but the big stuff is handled Very Very smoothly. Hard cornering seems a bit more stable than with the stock units. I would highly recommend this for someone who lives or drives on dirt or very rough roads and drives aggressively. If you are driving on fairly normal city/highway roads and treasure a smooth ride you may find this shock to be too stiff and jittery to be comfortable. I like this shock but after three years of using it, I am going switch to a different Monroe shock for a smoother ride.
