Comments about Monroe Quick-Strut Complete Strut Assembly:

I haven't used Monroe's before, and so far I am pleased with these struts. The install went very quickly, and easily. It was nice not needing to track down any additional parts that you find out need replacement, once the strut is out of the vehicle. The ride is excellent so far.I usually keep my vehicles for a long time, so time will tell if they last as long as other brands that I have used in the past.

Fairly easy installation for DIY mechanics. Hardest part of job was removal of backseat and stubborn bolts. Replaced both rear struts in approximately 4 hours with several breaks during to spend time with grand daughter.

My mechanic recommended replacing the strut and spring on my 2001 Lexus. The quick was a great economical purchase for my needs with a Limited Life Warranty on the Monroe Strut. Also, was eligible for rebate from Monroe on my quick strut purchase.

Comments about Monroe Quick-Strut Complete Strut Assembly:

                      Good idea, not good execution.
Looks like they just badly repaint old springs to pass off as new. Mine already had rust spots.
bottom holes did not line up enough for bolt to go through, had to use a drill to make fit. One strut was missing the three retaining nuts for the top part.

What other parts might I consider replacing while doing this job? I've got one for each corner of my 2000 Avalon in my Shopping cart, but I'd rather replace rubber stuff while I'm in there, since I have 221k miles on her.

Hi there Larry! These quick strut units are complete strut units. They come with new springs, strut bellows (the accordion looking rubber piece that's inside the spring), bump stop (white rubber bushing above the bellow, strut, and strut mount. It's a complete unit where you just toss out the old one and put in the new one. We just suggest checking your sway bar bushings, as well as your tie rod ends. With the miles you have on the vehicle we also suggest just checking all the rubber bushings for dry rot and or cracking and replace accordingly.
