Check Vehicle Fit

Monroe® OESpectrum® struts are engineered specifically for foreign nameplate vehicles and feature the latest global original equipment valving technologies. Developed through years of research and on-vehicle testing, Monroe® OESpectrum® units provide an unprecedented level of handling precision and control while filtering out the ride harshness commonly encountered on many foreign nameplate applications. This unique blend of control and comfort is made possible through Tenneco's 'Twin Technology™ Active Control System', an exclusive internal damping control technology first developed for leading global vehicle manufacturers. Tenneco's Twin Technology™ consists of its latest Impact Control Valve (ICV), which delivers exceptional control under virtually all driving conditions, and a patented Low Speed Tunability (LST) piston design that isolates impact-related noise, vibration and harshness.

Product Features:
  • All Weather Fluid: Contains special modifiers to reduce friction and ensure smooth rod reaction.
  • Rod Displaced Valving: Tuned specifically for each application, this valving automatically adjusts to road extremes to provide consistency and ride comfort.
  • Fluon Banded Piston: The fluon band provides consistent sealing between the piston and pressure tube which delivers better control and increased durability.
  • Twin Technology™: Impact Control Valve (ICV), delivers exceptional control under virtually all driving conditions, and patented Low Speed Tunability (LST) piston design that isolates impact-related noise, vibration and harshness.
  • Hardened and Chrome Plated Piston Rod: Long service life.
  • Nitrogen Gas Charged: For improved ride and handling, helps maintain tire to road contact by reducing aeration - on most applications
  • Unique Rod Guide and Single Lip Seal: Bronze reinforced rod guide bearing and special seal provides longer service life and consistent performance.
  • Special Dust Boot/Jounce Bumper: Protective dust boot reduces dirt and any moisture build-up. Jounce bumper helps prevent severe suspension movement. Dust boot & jounce bumper sold separately.

    Comments about Monroe OESpectrum Strut:

These struts are to replace the originals on a '95 Buick Riviera with about 110 K miles.
I wanted something at least as good as original equipment so decided to go the extra $$ for this model over the standard one, which is something I wish I'd done with Monroe air shocks I bought several years ago, which didn't last.
The write-up doesn't make it clear exactly how they sell you struts which are (quote) "application engineered valving... ", and I wonder just how accurate that part of the advertising is.
However, Monroe is definitely a long-time, trusted North American brand, and I am trusting that these struts actually are being manufactured in the USA (or Canada).

      Comments about Monroe OESpectrum Strut:

The ABS braket and the Brake hose Bracket bolts are self tapping bolts, No need to thread the hole with a tap and die.

        Comments about Monroe OESpectrum Strut:

        Monroe builds a quality product.
The struts replaced some that were well worn, so of course the ride and handling of the vehicle improved dramatically.
The only reason I didn't give 4 stars is that there are two holes in the base bracket where the brake line and ABS Sensor line brackets mount. Those holes were not tapped for bolts. I happen to have a tap&die kit so for me wasn't a big deal. But some shade-tree mechanics installing these struts themselves might not be prepared to have to tap the holes.
