Q:How does the oespectrum strut compare to the other Monroe strut you carry ? Ride quality & own specs I'm looking for a ride as close to the discontinued ford struts as possible everyone recommends monroe but not which 1's i don't want a hard ride like Kyb or koni http://m.advanceautoparts.com/p/monroe-gas-matic-strut-81803/5930040-P
A:Good question, Justin! The OESpectrum strut will use Monroe premium Twin Technology which incorporates their low speed tunability piston design and impact control valve. These are designed to give you the best combination of control and ride. Monro-Matic struts are designed to be an economical OE style replacement. Please provide us with the details of your application (including the year, make and model) and I will be happy to provide you with the correct strut that can be used if available.
Q:which monroe strut is closer to oem ride quality on a 1992 mustang theese or the blue monroe struts ?
A:Hi Justin, glad to assist you! This Monroe OESpectrum Strut (Part No. 71803) is an exact fit for your 1992 Ford Mustang GT. It is engineered to match your vehicle's OE-specified ride and handling profile. It provide an unprecedented level of handling precision and control while filtering out noise, vibration and harshness. To check the difference, please provide us with the part number for the Blue Monroe struts.
Q:Why is a spring compressor not required to install this strut?
A:Judging by the style, it does not have the lower spring seat integral to the strut. The spring is probably held in place by an upper and lower arm since it is not supported by the strut. Since it does not support the spring, you would not have to compress the spring to remove the strut.
Q:Would these work on a lowered 96 mustang? I've heard the shorter shock works well with a lowered 96 mustang which came with longer shocks.
A:No, this part does not fit your 1996 Ford Mustang.
A:yes they will work with lowered SN95/New Edge style mustangs. This is a common trick we use on lowered Stangs from 94-2004. the 79-93 Mustang struts are 1" shorter than the SN95 struts. I would not recommend lowering more than 1.5" though with out going to a custom Strut or Shock setup ie coilover type.
Q:whats the warr?
A:This warranty is valid for the stated period of time printed on your Invoice and Order Confirmation email provided you were the original purchaser of the part and you still own the vehicle on which it was installed. This warranty cannot be transferred to anyone at any time. Parts installed on commercial use vehicles are warranted for 90 days from the date of purchase.
Q:Do these work with the PRC (Programmed Ride Control) on the 1987/88 Thunderbird Turbo Coupe?
A:Yes, it will work with PRC. You can also use two of this item to replace electronically adjustable dampers of models with Programmed Ride Control (PRC).
Q:How much of a job is it to replace these struts on a 1993 Mustang GT ?
A:It would not be that hard to replace.
