Check Vehicle Fit

Monroe® OESpectrum® struts are engineered specifically for foreign nameplate vehicles and feature the latest global original equipment valving technologies. Developed through years of research and on-vehicle testing, Monroe® OESpectrum® units provide an unprecedented level of handling precision and control while filtering out the ride harshness commonly encountered on many foreign nameplate applications. This unique blend of control and comfort is made possible through Tenneco's 'Twin Technology™ Active Control System', an exclusive internal damping control technology first developed for leading global vehicle manufacturers. Tenneco's Twin Technology™ consists of its latest Impact Control Valve (ICV), which delivers exceptional control under virtually all driving conditions, and a patented Low Speed Tunability (LST) piston design that isolates impact-related noise, vibration and harshness.

Product Features:
  • All Weather Fluid: Contains special modifiers to reduce friction and ensure smooth rod reaction.
  • Rod Displaced Valving: Tuned specifically for each application, this valving automatically adjusts to road extremes to provide consistency and ride comfort.
  • Fluon Banded Piston: The fluon band provides consistent sealing between the piston and pressure tube which delivers better control and increased durability.
  • Twin Technology™: Impact Control Valve (ICV), delivers exceptional control under virtually all driving conditions, and patented Low Speed Tunability (LST) piston design that isolates impact-related noise, vibration and harshness.
  • Hardened and Chrome Plated Piston Rod: Long service life.
  • Nitrogen Gas Charged: For improved ride and handling, helps maintain tire to road contact by reducing aeration - on most applications
  • Unique Rod Guide and Single Lip Seal: Bronze reinforced rod guide bearing and special seal provides longer service life and consistent performance.
  • Special Dust Boot/Jounce Bumper: Protective dust boot reduces dirt and any moisture build-up. Jounce bumper helps prevent severe suspension movement. Dust boot & jounce bumper sold separately.

  • Q:

I am converting my Mark Vii air supension to the 4 wheel spring coil conversion kit (36F-30-4). I understand there will be a break-in period on the new springs. Do I use the same specifications for the front struts for the new springs that are listed for the old air suspension? Your local representative said I might need to go with ones a bit longer. Thanks!

      A:

With respect to your inquiry on the Monroe Sensa-Trac Strut - Part No. 71756 a proper conversion from air suspension to coil spring on your Mark VII is possible. It will invariably cost more and take more man-hours to do than repairing the air suspension. It is a very difficult job. I would suggest taking your vehicle to a certified mechanic for a proper diagnosis before buying and having parts installed that may not (solve/be) the problem. For any further assistance please feel free to call us at: 1-877-238-2623 or visit the nearest Advance Auto Parts store and one of our Parts Pros will gladly assist you with any questions or concerns you may have.

I know this question is old. Although I am hoping it will help someone with the same problem in the near future. I own a 1989 Lincoln Mark 7. Even if you decided to change to conventional springs from air bags, you are still going to need front struts. You will need struts and coil springs or struts with air bag suspension. Either way your car will need a set of struts. If you were to purchase a Conventional coil spring package to replace the air suspension , check out the spring conversion package that fits you car which will have2 front springs and 2 rear springs with all necessary hardware included in order to convert your suspension system on your car to conventional coil springs. I hope this helps someone. Thanks for reading.
