Check Vehicle Fit

Monroe® OESpectrum® shock absorbers are engineered specifically for foreign nameplate vehicles and feature the latest global original equipment valving technologies. Developed through years of research and on-vehicle testing, Monroe® OESpectrum® units provide an unprecedented level of handling precision and control while filtering out the ride harshness commonly encountered on many foreign nameplate applications. This unique blend of control and comfort is made possible through Tenneco's 'Twin Technology™ Active Control System', an exclusive internal damping control technology first developed for leading global vehicle manufacturers. Tenneco's Twin Technology™ consists of its latest Impact Control Valve (ICV), which delivers exceptional control under virtually all driving conditions, and a patented Low Speed Tunability (LST) piston design that isolates impact-related noise, vibration and harshness.

Product Features:
  • All Weather Fluid: Contains special modifiers to reduce friction and ensure smooth rod reaction.
  • Full Displaced Valving: Tuned specifically for each application, this valving automatically adjusts to road extremes to provide consistency and ride
  • Fluon Banded Piston: The fluon band provides consistent sealing between the piston and pressure tube which delivers better control and increased durability.
  • 1-3/16 inch Bore: Larger bore than most shocks to provide more efficient and consistent control
  • Twin Technology™: Impact Control Valve (ICV), delivers exceptional control under virtually all driving conditions, and patented Low Speed Tunability (LST) piston design that isolates impact-related noise, vibration and harshness.
  • Nitrogen Gas Charged: For improved ride and handling, helps maintain tire to road contact by reducing aeration - on most applications
  • 1/2 inch Diameter Piston Rod: Nitrocarburized rod for long service life. On non-dust shield units only.
  • Special Seal: 'Self-lubricating' fluid seal designed to retain gas without excessive wear or friction.

Comments about Monroe OESpectrum Passenger Car Shock Absorber:

installed front and back shocks and struts. struts were shipped quickly and were a pain to put the springs on even with a spring compresser. backs were very easy to install would not recomend doing the fronts if you are a first timer or atleast find someone who has the correct tools and knows how to do it.The ride is nice and the old struts and springs were shot you could push the piston down and it would nerver come back up so they definately needed to be replaced also watch for the differences there is a bmw 325i sport and not sport

Needed to replace my rear shocks. Definitely did the job, better ride feel and maybe some improvements, but car did not bounce after every bump.

Comments about Monroe OESpectrum Passenger Car Shock Absorber:

I do most repairs to my three cars. From tire changes to engine rebuilds. Had my 1995 BMW 318i since new and after the warrantee expired learned to do my own repairs. Had Monroe shocks on one of my other cars and thought that I should try them out on the 318i. The rear end was starting to bounce around after the original shocks gave out at 300,000 miles. Keep in mind that you are only buying shock here. The shocks do not come with dust boots, so buy a pair to replace the original ones. Also remember that the shock mounts may need replacing as well. Installation, once you disassemble the trunk lining, is fairly easy. Do remember to follow all safety procedures when working on car suspension and to tighten all nuts and bolts to recommended torques. And since you are going through the steps of replacing your shocks, have a look at your coil springs as well.

Comments about Monroe OESpectrum Passenger Car Shock Absorber:

I have done my own repairs here and there over my 25 years of driving and this was the first time I installed shocks myself. Very simple to install. I saved about $300.00 doing it myself.

          A:

Sport shocks are designed with shorter shock bodies and short strokes so they will perform better and have more travel and be more durable at lowered ride heights.
