Comments about Monroe OESpectrum Light Truck Shock Absorber:
'02 Sequoia 4WD 135K miles
Ride, handling, and braking had deteriorated to the point I had to replace the shocks and struts. Dramatic improvement of all aspects of drivability for this SUV.
Not to scare off any D_I-Y, but changing the rear shocks on this vehicle was one of the hardest and time consuming projects I've undertaken in a while. The mounting studs/nuts at the top of the OEM shock was a fine thread and lock nut variety. Apparently years of salt corrosion had so deteriorated the threads to a point they would not unthread. To top it off, the OEM shocks do not have the second nut to tighten or loosen the shock and I had to use a pipe wrench to hold the shock while trying to remove the nut. Long story shortened, after 4.5 hours of straining in awkward angles and positions and using every tool in the box, the stud wrung in two and the shock dropped out. Happened with both shocks. Installation was a breeze.
