Check Vehicle Fit

Monroe® OESpectrum® shock absorbers are engineered specifically for foreign nameplate vehicles and feature the latest global original equipment valving technologies. Developed through years of research and on-vehicle testing, Monroe® OESpectrum® units provide an unprecedented level of handling precision and control while filtering out the ride harshness commonly encountered on many foreign nameplate applications. This unique blend of control and comfort is made possible through Tenneco's 'Twin Technology™ Active Control System', an exclusive internal damping control technology first developed for leading global vehicle manufacturers. Tenneco's Twin Technology™ consists of its latest Impact Control Valve (ICV), which delivers exceptional control under virtually all driving conditions, and a patented Low Speed Tunability (LST) piston design that isolates impact-related noise, vibration and harshness.

Product Features:
  • All Weather Fluid: Contains special modifiers to reduce friction and ensure smooth rod reaction.
  • Full Displaced Valving: Tuned specifically for each application, this valving automatically adjusts to road extremes to provide consistency and ride
  • Fluon Banded Piston: The fluon band provides consistent sealing between the piston and pressure tube which delivers better control and increased durability.
  • Twin Technology™: Impact Control Valve (ICV), delivers exceptional control under virtually all driving conditions, and patented Low Speed Tunability (LST) piston design that isolates impact-related noise, vibration and harshness.
  • Nitrogen Gas Charged: For improved ride and handling, helps maintain tire to road contact by reducing aeration - on most applications
  • Special Seal: 'Self-lubricating' fluid seal designed to retain gas without excessive wear or friction.
  • 1-3/8 inch (34.9 mm) bore (On most applications)
  • 5/8-inch (15.9 mm) diameter piston rod (On most applications)

Stay away from these shocks on second set. The rears keep locking up on my 2005 Dodge Ram 1500. My mechanic is trying to warranty them out for a different shock.

Truck rides great, bought these to match the loaded Monroe struts that were installed on the front. Its a truck, not a Chrysler 300, they work great for the intended vehicle.

          Pass on these shocks

Comments about Monroe OESpectrum Light Truck Shock Absorber:

I bought these shocks for a 96 Dodge Ram Slt 4x4. I tow a travel trailer. I dont off road. I don't overload the truck. Even when the shocks were knew, the ride was not great. About 8 months into ownership, my truck developed a rattle in the rear and the ride got worse. Unrelated I took my truck to my mechanic and while he had it on the lift, he commented both shocks were leaking. Needless to say, replaced the shocks with KYB Monomax, problem fixed! Sidenote on Advance warranty. Limited warranty= Cannot upgrade shocks and pay the difference. Must turn the shocks in at the time you are given the replacements.

Comments about Monroe OESpectrum Light Truck Shock Absorber:

I purchased these shocks to replace the originals that had 190,000 miles on them. They were not leaking but I felt they had done their job.

Unfortunately these shocks seem to lock-up after hitting raised strips on highways. They are not nearly as soft as the originals and a giant disappointment. I used the Monroe's website and entered the ride I was looking for etc and these were the shocks they suggested. My experience is less than satisfactory.
