Check Vehicle Fit

Monroe® OESpectrum® shock absorbers are engineered specifically for foreign nameplate vehicles and feature the latest global original equipment valving technologies. Developed through years of research and on-vehicle testing, Monroe® OESpectrum® units provide an unprecedented level of handling precision and control while filtering out the ride harshness commonly encountered on many foreign nameplate applications. This unique blend of control and comfort is made possible through Tenneco's 'Twin Technology™ Active Control System', an exclusive internal damping control technology first developed for leading global vehicle manufacturers. Tenneco's Twin Technology™ consists of its latest Impact Control Valve (ICV), which delivers exceptional control under virtually all driving conditions, and a patented Low Speed Tunability (LST) piston design that isolates impact-related noise, vibration and harshness.

Product Features:
  • All Weather Fluid: Contains special modifiers to reduce friction and ensure smooth rod reaction.
  • Full Displaced Valving: Tuned specifically for each application, this valving automatically adjusts to road extremes to provide consistency and ride
  • Fluon Banded Piston: The fluon band provides consistent sealing between the piston and pressure tube which delivers better control and increased durability.
  • Twin Technology™: Impact Control Valve (ICV), delivers exceptional control under virtually all driving conditions, and patented Low Speed Tunability (LST) piston design that isolates impact-related noise, vibration and harshness.
  • Nitrogen Gas Charged: For improved ride and handling, helps maintain tire to road contact by reducing aeration - on most applications
  • Special Seal: 'Self-lubricating' fluid seal designed to retain gas without excessive wear or friction.
  • 1-3/8 inch (34.9 mm) bore (On most applications)
  • 5/8-inch (15.9 mm) diameter piston rod (On most applications)

Truck rides much better (99 explorer)

Comments about Monroe OESpectrum Light Truck Shock Absorber:

Very little room on 99 explorer type to secure top two bolts. The self locking nuts and bolts are a pain to install because there is little room for a wrench. Better to use regular case hardened bolts and nuts with lock washer

Nice shock for the money. Easy to install once the old ones are off. Didn't realize how bad the existing ones were until I had the new ones on and went for a test drive. The new ones perform well.

I have owned my 2000 Ford Explorer since 2008 and have wanted to replace the shocks ever since. I am so glad I did because now my truck rides like new! Installation was easy just some awkward angles. In addition, the price is right when you order online with one of their promotion codes, you can't go wrong!

        1994 Ford Explorer

        By

Comments about Monroe OESpectrum Light Truck Shock Absorber:

I can't say enough about the ride difference. Got them installed by Brakes Plus-original shocks were shot-one actually would not rebound. I wanted a smooth ride or smoothest for an explorer I could get. It is a very supportive, comfortable yet firm when needed dampening. The owner explained that it has 3 preload dampening settings built it-I inferred this provided a progressive dampening. They also warranty the shocks for life so you just bring them in and pay labor-at Brakes Plus at least in 50,000 miles. Did much research and wanted to share how much I like these. I also run my tire pressure a little low which helps with the stiff ride. Best money I have spent.
