Check Vehicle Fit

Monroe® OESpectrum® shock absorbers are engineered specifically for foreign nameplate vehicles and feature the latest global original equipment valving technologies. Developed through years of research and on-vehicle testing, Monroe® OESpectrum® units provide an unprecedented level of handling precision and control while filtering out the ride harshness commonly encountered on many foreign nameplate applications. This unique blend of control and comfort is made possible through Tenneco's 'Twin Technology™ Active Control System', an exclusive internal damping control technology first developed for leading global vehicle manufacturers. Tenneco's Twin Technology™ consists of its latest Impact Control Valve (ICV), which delivers exceptional control under virtually all driving conditions, and a patented Low Speed Tunability (LST) piston design that isolates impact-related noise, vibration and harshness.

Product Features:
  • All Weather Fluid: Contains special modifiers to reduce friction and ensure smooth rod reaction.
  • Full Displaced Valving: Tuned specifically for each application, this valving automatically adjusts to road extremes to provide consistency and ride
  • Fluon Banded Piston: The fluon band provides consistent sealing between the piston and pressure tube which delivers better control and increased durability.
  • Twin Technology™: Impact Control Valve (ICV), delivers exceptional control under virtually all driving conditions, and patented Low Speed Tunability (LST) piston design that isolates impact-related noise, vibration and harshness.
  • Nitrogen Gas Charged: For improved ride and handling, helps maintain tire to road contact by reducing aeration - on most applications
  • Special Seal: 'Self-lubricating' fluid seal designed to retain gas without excessive wear or friction.
  • 1-3/8 inch (34.9 mm) bore (On most applications)
  • 5/8-inch (15.9 mm) diameter piston rod (On most applications)

I bought these to replace severely worn out OEM shocks (crumbled in my hands). These shocks look nice with a gloss black finish. They feel nice and solid. These were for my front end and came with the needed nuts and bolts. They installed quickly and easily, with a perfect fit. I have a torsion bar front end and these definitely help absorb the bumps much more "fluidly". They have helped the overall ride of my truck immensely including a better feel when braking. I think that they are an a very good value for the money and would not hesitate to buy again.

The Upper Mount Threaded Post and Bushing/Washer Design requires you to utilized all of the thread to get the lower bushing to become snug against the trucks upper mount housing. It would appear that if you get any unusual wear of the upper bushings it could result in a loose shock condition as there is no further capability to tighten that fit.

Installed these on a 2006 Ford Ranger Sport 2WD with 82k miles. The old shocks were wore out and handling was beginning to suffer. It now handles and feels like a new Truck again. And they were very easy to install.

Bolted right in on a 2004 Ford Ranger pickup. You need to get the right size there are 13" and 18 lengths. I have not driven the truck yet, am still working on the brakes.

Comments about Monroe OESpectrum Light Truck Shock Absorber:

First off i have to say I am very impressed with the improvement these shocks have made to my ranger handles better and doesn't nose dive when braking. The only reason im giving three stars is when torqueing the bolts to correct specifications 2 snapped so i just replaced with better hardware.
