Check Vehicle Fit

Monroe® OESpectrum® shock absorbers are engineered specifically for foreign nameplate vehicles and feature the latest global original equipment valving technologies. Developed through years of research and on-vehicle testing, Monroe® OESpectrum® units provide an unprecedented level of handling precision and control while filtering out the ride harshness commonly encountered on many foreign nameplate applications. This unique blend of control and comfort is made possible through Tenneco's 'Twin Technology™ Active Control System', an exclusive internal damping control technology first developed for leading global vehicle manufacturers. Tenneco's Twin Technology™ consists of its latest Impact Control Valve (ICV), which delivers exceptional control under virtually all driving conditions, and a patented Low Speed Tunability (LST) piston design that isolates impact-related noise, vibration and harshness.

Product Features:
  • All Weather Fluid: Contains special modifiers to reduce friction and ensure smooth rod reaction.
  • Full Displaced Valving: Tuned specifically for each application, this valving automatically adjusts to road extremes to provide consistency and ride
  • Fluon Banded Piston: The fluon band provides consistent sealing between the piston and pressure tube which delivers better control and increased durability.
  • Twin Technology™: Impact Control Valve (ICV), delivers exceptional control under virtually all driving conditions, and patented Low Speed Tunability (LST) piston design that isolates impact-related noise, vibration and harshness.
  • Nitrogen Gas Charged: For improved ride and handling, helps maintain tire to road contact by reducing aeration - on most applications
  • Special Seal: 'Self-lubricating' fluid seal designed to retain gas without excessive wear or friction.
  • 1-3/8 inch (34.9 mm) bore (On most applications)
  • 5/8-inch (15.9 mm) diameter piston rod (On most applications)

Comments about Monroe OESpectrum Light Truck Shock Absorber:

I was hoping the ride would be closer to as new condition considering the price of the product, age and miles on the vehicle.
If I could have been able to afford more ( the price for these and the front struts was ridiculous) and didn't mind removing and reinstalling them I would have returned them and tried an upgrade.

Comments about Monroe OESpectrum Light Truck Shock Absorber:

Be sure to check your vehicles shocks and struts if you are around 75-100k you notice oil leaking out of the shocks or you have a decrease in vehicle handling. These shocks aren't necessarily meant for off roading or anything crazy like that but are a large improvement over factory shocks. They are also reasonably priced. Keep in mind that these are the 4wd and are not made for the 2wd tacomas which are smaller in all the dimensions

Comments about Monroe OESpectrum Light Truck Shock Absorber:

I purchased the Monroe shocks for my 1998 Toyota Tacoma 4X4 because the weld on my 3 year old Rancho 5000 shocks broke. I am not a hard core 4 wheeler. I occassionaly take it off road; but I am not real aggresive. I am very disappointed with the Ranchos. I bought the Monroes because they were on sale and were in stock. I needed my truck and did not want to wait for some of the more expensive shocks to be shipped. After one month of use, I am happy so far with them. I have not noticed much difference from the Ranchos and are half the cost. Monroe has been around for decades so they must be doing something right.
