Monroe® OESpectrum® shock absorbers are engineered specifically for foreign nameplate vehicles and feature the latest global original equipment valving technologies. Developed through years of research and on-vehicle testing, Monroe® OESpectrum® units provide an unprecedented level of handling precision and control while filtering out the ride harshness commonly encountered on many foreign nameplate applications. This unique blend of control and comfort is made possible through Tenneco's 'Twin Technology™ Active Control System', an exclusive internal damping control technology first developed for leading global vehicle manufacturers. Tenneco's Twin Technology™ consists of its latest Impact Control Valve (ICV), which delivers exceptional control under virtually all driving conditions, and a patented Low Speed Tunability (LST) piston design that isolates impact-related noise, vibration and harshness.

Product Features:
  • All Weather Fluid: Contains special modifiers to reduce friction and ensure smooth rod reaction.
  • Full Displaced Valving: Tuned specifically for each application, this valving automatically adjusts to road extremes to provide consistency and ride
  • Fluon Banded Piston: The fluon band provides consistent sealing between the piston and pressure tube which delivers better control and increased durability.
  • Twin Technology™: Impact Control Valve (ICV), delivers exceptional control under virtually all driving conditions, and patented Low Speed Tunability (LST) piston design that isolates impact-related noise, vibration and harshness.
  • Nitrogen Gas Charged: For improved ride and handling, helps maintain tire to road contact by reducing aeration - on most applications
  • Special Seal: 'Self-lubricating' fluid seal designed to retain gas without excessive wear or friction.
  • 1-3/8 inch (34.9 mm) bore (On most applications)
  • 5/8-inch (15.9 mm) diameter piston rod (On most applications)

Comments about Monroe OESpectrum Light Truck Shock Absorber:

Replaced factory shocks on a 99 ram 1500. Not real impressed. Probably get close to the same results from the cheaper ones.

Comments about Monroe OESpectrum Light Truck Shock Absorber:

If you need new shocks and you aren't lifting, dropping, or heavily modifying your truck these are the shocks for you. Don't wast money on stock shocks, or cheap shocks that only last a year and are then loose and noisy. Get these and they will last you longer and if they do go bad the replacement is free.

      • Q:

Are the •Monroe OESpectrum Light Truck Shock Absorber the same as the Sensa-Trac Light Truck Shock Absorber

        • CUSTOMER CARE

          A:

No, Dom, they are different in some features. The Monroe Sensa-Trac truck shock absorber with PSD (position sensitive damping) and the Safe Tech system combines our exclusive precision tapered grooves in the pressure tube with application engineered valving and Fluon banded piston to improve the ride, handling, and safety characteristics of the vehicle. These features allow the Monroe Sensa-Trac truck shock absorber to adjust more rapidly to changing road and weight conditions than any other available shock absorber. The result: enhanced control with uncompromised ride comfort. The Monroe OESpectrum shock absorbers feature our latest, global, original equipment valving technologies for domestic and foreign nameplate applications. Monroe OESpectrum units provide an unprecedented level of handling precision and control while filtering out ride harshness. This unique blend of control and comfort is made possible through Tenneco's Twin Technology Active Control System, an exclusive internal damping control technology. Tenneco's Twin Technology consists of the latest Impact Control Valve (ICV), delivers exceptional control by regulating the flow of fluid which helps control vehicle roll and isolate road impact, and a patented Low Speed Tunability (LST) piston design that isolates impact-related noise, vibration, and harshness experienced with rough, bumpy road conditions.

          A:

I recommend going with a shock that is meant for a lifted truck. This is more for stock height vehicles.
