Check Vehicle Fit

Monroe® OESpectrum® shock absorbers are engineered specifically for foreign nameplate vehicles and feature the latest global original equipment valving technologies. Developed through years of research and on-vehicle testing, Monroe® OESpectrum® units provide an unprecedented level of handling precision and control while filtering out the ride harshness commonly encountered on many foreign nameplate applications. This unique blend of control and comfort is made possible through Tenneco's 'Twin Technology™ Active Control System', an exclusive internal damping control technology first developed for leading global vehicle manufacturers. Tenneco's Twin Technology™ consists of its latest Impact Control Valve (ICV), which delivers exceptional control under virtually all driving conditions, and a patented Low Speed Tunability (LST) piston design that isolates impact-related noise, vibration and harshness.

Product Features:
  • All Weather Fluid: Contains special modifiers to reduce friction and ensure smooth rod reaction.
  • Full Displaced Valving: Tuned specifically for each application, this valving automatically adjusts to road extremes to provide consistency and ride
  • Fluon Banded Piston: The fluon band provides consistent sealing between the piston and pressure tube which delivers better control and increased durability.
  • Twin Technology™: Impact Control Valve (ICV), delivers exceptional control under virtually all driving conditions, and patented Low Speed Tunability (LST) piston design that isolates impact-related noise, vibration and harshness.
  • Nitrogen Gas Charged: For improved ride and handling, helps maintain tire to road contact by reducing aeration - on most applications
  • Special Seal: 'Self-lubricating' fluid seal designed to retain gas without excessive wear or friction.
  • 1-3/8 inch (34.9 mm) bore (On most applications)
  • 5/8-inch (15.9 mm) diameter piston rod (On most applications)

Good Shocks, but contact tech for selection!

Comments about Monroe OESpectrum Light Truck Shock Absorber:

Monroe includes no installation instructions. Most would know the installation sequence of hardware. Nuts are not locking. Advance website is insufficient for selection of shock, make sure you contact a technician (phone or chat) to be sure you have the correct shocks. Note that mine would have been incorrect if I didn't, and as you know, there's nothing worse than starting a project and finding out you have the wrong part.

Comments about Monroe OESpectrum Light Truck Shock Absorber:

I bought and installed these on a 2003 Ford Ranger XLT that had 3 original shocks and 1 newer shock on it. Although I'm handy with tools I'd never attempted this before. As easy as this was I can't believe I waited this long to save myself a bunch of money doing it myself. I replaced all four shocks and with all the discounts and rebates I'm looking at around $100 total for the job. See what a shop wants to charge you and you might attempt this yourself. Glad I did.

Comments about Monroe OESpectrum Light Truck Shock Absorber:

I used this product on my 1997 ford ranger and they are better than the factory ones by far. Comfortable ride, holds up well, more responsive, all around a great shock. Easy installation too. I don't really have any thing to say negative about this product. In my eyes this product is great and I would recommend this product to anyone.

Comments about Monroe OESpectrum Light Truck Shock Absorber:

shocks were easy to install and came with all the needed instructions. the fact that they were bungie together made the installation a breeze. it was so easy..my wife was able to install one of them while I installed the other. None of the bolts were difficult to remove from my truck. I have a ford Ranger extended cab which is about 15 years old. I thought it had an amazing ride before I installed the new shocks...but you should really feel the ride now. it is so smooth that I am thinking of installing front shocks also.

Comments about Monroe OESpectrum Light Truck Shock Absorber:

I bought these to replace my worn out OEM rear shocks. These are just the plain shock without any hardware. They have a nice gloss black finish. They were a perfect fit for my truck. By the way, if you break a lower shock bolt as I did, a replacement bolt for this vehicle is a 12mm x 1.75 thread. I bought a 80mm length but is a little longer than the original. No auto parts stores or dealers seem to carry them on hand either. The shocks have given me a very nice ride adding greatly to the comfort level. I would buy these again as I feel that they are a very good value.

Hi there Mike! Happy to help! Part No P-827 is a fitment sleeve. It will go in the bottom part of the shock. According to the manufacturer this shocks fits multiple vehicles so check your mounting bolt to see if it fits with no play. If there is play then use the sleeve.
