The Stabilizer feels good in my hands, but its kind of hard to install with no hardware included. Factory Drag link hardware is not re-useable,as it is not removeable from the factory stabilizer. Advertisement page states Parts Pack is included, but it sure was not in the box. Its aggravating to take apart your truck to install a newly purchased Steering Stablizer, but the hardware( that is suppose to be included) to mount it has gone AWOL. AAP will be seeing my face again this morning, and it will not be a happy face.

I bought this steering stabilizer for my TJ not even a year ago and it is already leaking fluid. It has barely been off road. It is a solid stabilizer and a good price but next time I'll spend more and get one that lasts

Comments about Monroe Magnum Steering Damper:

I used this in combination with replacing the track bar and getting new tires to fix a really bad death wobble on my '04 Wrangler. While my old stabilizer wasn't totally blown out it was definately worn. The cylinder moved in and out too easily. This new one was a perfect fit, no extra hardware needed. I am not an experienced mechanic but I researched the replacement process on Youtube and the repair went exactly as described, right down to the difficulty of getting the old swivel stud out. But it all worked, death wobble fixed!

                          A:

Hi Dan, glad to assist you! The purpose of a steering stabilizer is to tame the action of trucks and SUVs with oversized tires. When you equip your ride with larger tires, you may become a victim of the “shimmy” effect or the “death wobble.” But, a steering stabilizer ends the common vibration problem that larger tires can cause, smoothing out your ride. So, you get improved handling and better ride quality.

No. Unless this is leaking like the shocks were too, or if you're noticing more steering vibration than normal. Hope this helps!
