Replaced front strut shocks of Corrolla 2001 with these, which had 100K miles. Originals even though had not yet leaked, weren't functioning well, too stiff. After replacement ride is more comfortable and bumps are smoother. I have only 500 miles on these shocks, so I can't comment on durability.
I had to cut off the hex head extrusion on the top of the piston rod, because it was sticking up on strut mount and preventing the rubber cap to be closed on the mount. This should be done before assembly of the strut, because iron fillings will make the strut mount bearing useless. Other con I noticed, the blue paint comes off very easily during handling. Other than these, they fit fine and working fine so far.

I purchased this for my mothers car. With 125,000 miles her struts were worn out and needed replacement. I am a novice mechanic and had no problem installing this product. The result was a 14 year old car that that rides as if it were new again.

A strut assembly is a suspension strut. You may need to get a spring compressor, boot kit, strut mounting kit, etc depending on you vehicle and what condition the other parts are in.

                      • A:

The newer cars have the struts as the shocks and coil springs in one piece.
If the coil springs are fine, then all you need is a strut for each side and to borrow a strut removal install tool.
DO NOT ATTEMPT WITHOUT THIS TOOL!!! Doing so risks injury or possible death.
