Q:Will this strut fit on my 96 ford escort or do I need the struts with the spring on it.
A:Yes, this Monroe Gas-Matic Strut with part# 81878 fits your 1996 Ford Escort. Monroe Gas-Matic passenger car struts are gas charged and provide improved control.
Q:MY QUESTION IS WHAT ALL WOULD I HAVE TO PURCHASE TO CHANGE MY FRONT AND REAR STRUT SET UP? AS OF RIGHT NOW ITS ALL STOCK AND THE FRONT LEFT BOOT IS TEARING BECAUSE I HAVE LARGER WHEELS ON IT THAN WHAT IS RECOMMENED FOR TIRE SIZE. PLAN ON CHANGING THE FRONT SOON AND WOULD LIKE TO KNOW ALL NECESSARY PARTS NEEDED? ALSO AS STATED BEFORE I HAVE 18s ON MY FORD ESCORT AND AM WONDERING BEFORE PURCHASE CAN I USE ETHESE STRUTS TO RAISE THE SUSPENDSION ON MY CAR?
A:The only other thing that I can think of that you will need is maybe the new boot and strut mounting kit. Struts are not used to raise a vehicle.
