        Comments about Monroe Gas-Matic Strut:

Great product. The strut was put on a 2003 Malibu. Exact fit and well made(in the USA). Only reason that I gave it a 4 star instead of a 5 star rating is the lock nut. The top lock nut was too short and would not tighten down far enough. Had to reuse the factory Nylock nut that was and extra 1/2 inch taller to properly seat. using the nuts that came with these struts on a Malibu will result in a loose rattling strut.

              Comments about Monroe Gas-Matic Strut:

My car is eight years old and after removing the old struts I found out that they were no longer good as the shaft will stay down. The new ones raised the vehicle.Impact wrench required to remove the shaft bolt.Since I do not have air tools, I have found an alternative at [...]. It is a hand tool were the socket is hollow on the inside allowing another small socket to hold the shaft while loosening the shaft nut. The hollow socket is held on the outside perimeter by the wrench. Also I did not replace the struts upper bearing, but it started squawking with the new struts. So I had to removed them again to replace the bearing. Now it is great, no noise at all. So I would recommend to replace the bearings along with the struts.

                Comments about Monroe Gas-Matic Strut:

Easy to install if you have an impact wrench. Otherwise, you need a special tool to remove the nut on top (which I could not find at any of the major auto parts chains).
The originals were only 8 yrs old and had no visible signs of leakage, but when removed they were shot. I could easily compress them by hand and they would not rebound. These Monroe struts increased the ride height and greatly improved the handling and braking stability. I was surprised how big of a difference they made.

Depends on what vehicle you are driving and also if it already has one on it. If you could provide us with the year, make, model and engine size of your vehicle we would be more than happy to see if we carry the right part you are looking for.

                      A:

Yes. it comes with no hardware. you need all of the bearing plates, dust covers, spring, dampers, etc. from the originals. They do provide a new lock nut for the top bearing plate.
