    Comments about Monroe Gas-Matic Strut:

I would not recoment this for mid 90's Honda's. The ride was extreamly bouncy and uncomfortable. The shock is too stiff.

        Comments about Monroe Gas-Matic Strut:

Struts were delivered promptly and as described. Installation was easy. An alignment is suggested after install which I still need to do but my ride and handling are better noew.

What all parts would I need to replace the front and rear struts on my 97 Honda Accord LX 2.2?

            A:

I'm happy to help, 123! To replace your rear struts with these Monroe Gas-Matic Struts (Part No. 81286) on your 1997 Honda Accord LX 2.2L L4, you will typically want to purchase a Monroe Strut-Mate Strut Mounting Kit (Part No. 901961). You may also want to purchase a strut mount stud plate (Part No. 904993), the upper (Part No. 905974) coil spring insulator and lower (Part No. 905975) coil spring insulator. You may also want a strut boot kit (Part No. 63636). Many times the coil spring (MOOG Part No. CC257) should be replaced as well.

The front struts would require the mounting kit (Part No. 901940) and strut mount stud plate (Part No. 905901). You may also want the boot kit, Part No. 63628. On both the front and rear you will need to purchase two of each of these products, except the coil springs.

Another great option is to purchase a Quick-Strut (Part No. 171286L [rear left] and Part No. 171286R [rear right]) This has all of the parts preassembled and ready to install on the vehicle. This eliminates the need for a spring compressor, increasing safety and saves time. For the front you will need Quick-Strut Part No. 171989 or Econo-Matic Part No. 181989.
