I liked them and they did have new hardware as compared to previous reviews, but the shocks were 1 full inch shorter than stock and if you have raised your torsion bars 1.5" to level the front of your truck with the back, then they are going to be a little short. The ride is good, but there is no upward dampening now.

Shocks work just fine , they do as they are suppost to,Just would be nice if they weren't missing parts. The hardware package was unopened and missing 1 each washer and rubber snubber which I found out after I had the truck up on jacks and stands and didn't have another vechicle to run back to Advance Auto Parts and get a replacement kit.Grant it , it is not the place of the store salesman to check sealed boxes for all the complete parts ,tho ,the customer should be able to rely on getting all he needs to complete the job when purchasing parts in seald boxes. My dissatifaction falls on MONROE SHOCKS for having shabby quality control,,,,again ,maybe MADE IN THE USA do'es have more to it than meets the eye.Wont use MONROE SHOCKS next time I need them..

Does not fit 2004 Silverado with 5.3 liter motor. The correct shocks have a stud on top and a knuckle on bottom. These have a clevis type bracket and did not work.

I have over 248,000 miles on my 2000 Silverado with original shocks. Needless to say, the truck rides like new now. Installation is pretty easy as long as you have an impact wrench. Also I suggest not cutting the plastic retainers on the shock until you have one end bolted up. This will keep the shock partially compressed making it easier to align the bolt holes. While securing the loose end, cut the retainer and guide the shock as it extends while inserting the remaining mounting bolt.

The locknut that goes on the top stud wasn't included with the parts on one shock. Had to go buy another nut. Monroe needs better quality assurance program. Did not make me very happy to have to make an extra trip!!!

These were installed on a 4x4 Silverado. They fit well and were easy to replace. The original shocks had a metal sleeve between the two rubber bushings that sandwiched the top stud to the vehicle. This prevented over compression of the rubber bushings. The new rubber bushings on the new shock did not have the metal sleeve. This could lead to over compression of the rubber bushing. Overall I like the product.

I didn't really have much problem installing these. All necessary hardware was included and fit well. Changed all four shocks on my truck to these. Quite an improvement over the stock shocks! A good OEM replacement product. They are not high-performance style shocks...don't expect them to be. They work well for the use intended. Made in the USA and economically priced, as well. I don't care if they are yellow. A win-win!

Yes, the only difference between a Z71 silverado and mine without the Z71 package is the shocks they use. Meaning, these should work for you with no problems. Worst case is that you have to return them if you don't like them, but I am very happy with these shocks on my 2000 silverado 4x4.
