Ive never used Monroe shocks before. For years ive rebilt and built up trucks and Suvs. Always used Rancho, Trailblazer, Rough country, Bilisten..ect. I will not pay bigg bucks again for shocks. These are very comparable to the higher dollar shocks and in some cases better. I put 3 inches on my Durango recently which had Rancho 9000s on before and after lift. I couldnt keep it from boucing and swaying on the trail. Got so bad that i actually hit my roof off a tree when i went over thru a ditch. Didnt have much to spend and bought these... Wow, amazing difference.. Best buy in the build.. By the way the Rancho shocks were only 3 months old, werent even scratched.

Comments about Monroe Gas-Matic LT Shock Absorber:

I installed these after getting old ones off my 2003 dodge dakota 4×4 Monroe has always been my choice over the past 25 years ,easy install only issue no new bolts came with the new ones, they always did before still love the product as the ride is great for the bumpy roads we have in ny.i also have a set of monore in the front great product at a great price at advance Auto parts. The shocks are made with a reinforced piston that can withstand the pressure of on and off road ing when you feel you need a relatively beefed up support for you car or truck ,face it I love Monroe just add the bolts next time lol

Perfect fit, easy installation (except for the truck's design which hides the upper bolts, not Monroe's fault). Ride instantly improved and tire noise is decreased. Didn't know what i was missing. Definitely a good buy and effective, we'll see how long it lasts.

Comments about Monroe Gas-Matic LT Shock Absorber:

I have a 2004 Dakota 4X4 that a bought a couple of years ago with 90K+ on the odo. I've been picking away at some of the higher maintenance items and shocks were on the list. I purchased these Monroe's a few days ago and replaced what appeared to be the factory units with over 118K on them. Needless to say the old shocks were way tired. After a painless install of these Monroe's I noticed a considerable difference in the ride and handling. This was no surprise given the length of time others were in there and they made for a really nice ride. The price seems very reasonable for the result achieved!

Comments about Monroe Gas-Matic LT Shock Absorber:

Top bolts on the Dakota truck are a pain, but that's not the new shocks fault. The shocks make a noticable difference in ride and handling. Hopefully they will last 70,000 miles like the stock one's did. If not, they have a lifetime warranty ?
